Over the past 30 or so years I have taken the old vintage off of reels that needed cleaning or repairs. I saved all the best over the years. Here is a group of 9 early casting lines. Most likely taken from raised pillar and non levelwind reels. Some are those nice thin 2 color lines we all like. They are in varied lengths, most likely from 25 yards to perhaps 50 yards or more. Rare Antique Fishing Ashaway-Joseph Jefferson Tarred Tarpon & Tuna Line 1924-25
This is a rare fishing spool with the transition label on the back only used from 1924-25 Rising sun with there trademark center and orange and green label. Front of the spool has Joseph Jefferson famous actor and fisherman 1829-1905. Ashaway Tarred Tarpon& Tuna Line No.15 Test 30lb 50 yrds. seems full. This a great collectors piece for any size collection it was used when first purchased there are holes from being on the reel and of course yellowing on front and some fading on back label. But for the age as you can see from the photos its in good condition. Size is 21/2" across the front of photo side and 1 1/2" across width of the line.
