A1 evans sharpes aberdeen menteith don gold medal trout fly fishing reel + spool
for sale here is a very very good and very clean michael evans reel made by sharpes of aberdeen. Basically the same as a"menteith" or"the don" which is the larger size and also the exact same as a penn gold medal freshwater fly reel(made under licence by sharpes for penn" its a trout reel, 3& 3/8ths" 7/8ths wide drum, 2 screw drum release, quite remarkable design on these, designed and made by sharpes of aberdeen and i think Jw youngs helped too if i remember correctly, it has a rear mounted tension which works on both left and right wind and it can be changed from left to right by turning the bottom knob, you can also use it in silent mode and the drag still works in both directions, a very very clever and unique design, smooth foot straight and unfiled, perforated spool, overall exceptionally good and clean ... morewith strong loud check, and has seen very little use as can be seen, comes with a spare spool which is fine too, also 2 mesh drawstring bags, it might take you a while to figure it out how it works but its a very clever and handy design and actually quite simple once to see how it works.stunning reel.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.

good vintage hardy LRH lightweight multiplier trout fly fishing reel + case
for sale here is a good clean original model LRH multiplier trout fly fishing reel. 3 + 1/8ths" very rarely seen in the multiplier version, 2 screw drum release, smooth alloy foot, rim tension, twin checks, left or right wind, reversible nickel silver lineguard, overall excellent working order with no damage, good strong loud check, tight with no slackness, some paint wear as seen but still a good example.comes with reasonably good blue hardy padded case which has the usual little tear at the seam.please see my other listings of hardy and other vintage fishing items this week.
