Description Northern Fish Mount Real Skin Taxidermy Mount Measures around 35" I tend to underestimate. So there is no dissapointment! This mount was a part of an estate purchased in WI. I don't know if the fish was actually caught in WI. But I would venture to guess so. It is a fixer upper. The biggest flaw is the tail fin has a tear. It appears someone attempted to repair the tear. And had no luck. The other fins have some damage also, I took close pictures of each fin to show any damage. Also there is one spot on his back where a scale flaked off leaving a bare spot. Along the jaw line there is a damaged area as well. Please look through the pictures carefully so you are able to determine if this fish is for you! He will be carefully packaged. This blue marlin is approximately 12 feet long. And in it's current posture, from the tip of the top fin to the bottom of the tail, it's about 5 feet vertical. Friends of mine caught this years ago and paid $2400 to have this fiberglass mount of it made. They are now retiring and planning on traveling the US in an RV as well as abroad, and are clearing out their life long treasures that are too big to take with them(like this beautiful fish) Thus this fish has only been with it's original owner and catcher(he also caught it) lol: I asked if I could try and sell this for them, and they are letting me: It's got some dust ... moreon it from being in storage, but is otherwise in gorgeous condition for a several years' old fish. I would have wiped it down myself, but wasn't sure the best solution to use, so I left it at that. Please see pics. The only thing I could find worth mentioning is that a single tip of the upper fins' about 1/4 inch worth, as in literally a small hair of a tip) needs to be touched some how. Otherwise I can't find anything worth mentioning. I guesstimate it weighs about 70 pounds or less as I lifted it slightly with their help off it's back bracket, but I didn't want to remove it from the wall to have it officially weighed. Here is one huge walleye mount. The tag says it was 31 and 1/2 inches. I laid a tape in the V of the tail and measured 30 inches to the bottom lip. So this was well over that live. This was very well done and still looks great after 25 years. The tag did not say where this came from. I am pretty sure it was from Lake Erie. There are a lot of walleye fishermen that never caught one over 30 inches in a lifetime. Here is an extra large being sold without reserve. Email any questions and thanks for looking.

They just don't come any nicer than this. It is kind of hard to measure length on this one because he is curling away from you at the head and tail. It is all of 23 inches long and has a girth of 14 inches behind the gills and ahead of the front fins. The taxidermy is superb in my opinion. The gills are flared and the mouth is wide open. Barracuda 41'' Fish Wall Mount
I caught this barracuda when I was 11. In 1993. It has been hanging on my parents wall since around then. It is a one sided wall mount. I'd love to keep it, but I have no where to put it. The fish was caught near Hilton Head South Carolina. It was mounted in Florida, and mailed to NY. Sometime in between then and now, we dropped it causing some damage. The edges of the tail are chipped. These chips are visible when displayed on the wall, but perhaps they can be fixed. Also, the seams of the fish are damaged(see photo) the damage at the seams(top and bottom) is not visible when hanging on your wall, but is structural damage. The fish is still sturdy as this damage is restricted to the region by the tail. I can't imagine wrapping up this fish to put in the mail, but it is available for pick up in Massapequa Park, Long Island, New York.

I have never seen this type of fish before so did some research and found information on the fish which I have pasted at the bottom of the description. The former owner said that this fish was caught in the Ottawa River approximately 50 years ago. The Gar Pike measures approximately 31 inches from the tip of the beak along the curve of its body to the tip of the tail fin. Or about 29 inches long from the tip of the beak on a straight line to the tip of the tail fin; the pine board is 32 inches long x 9 inches high and has two metal eyes for hanging. It has a great look and appears to be in very good condition. Definitely a conversation piece with ... moreits unusual needlenose beak! Gars are called“living fossils” because nearly all their relatives are extinct. They were abundant in Europe during the Tertiary or the first period of the Cenozoic but. Before the close of that period, which embraced approximately 58 million years measured by radio-activity, they became extinct in Europe, and the family is now exclusively North American in its distribution. Gars are distinguished by their slender cylindrical bodies. Their thin, long jaws which are produced forward into a beak, and by the more or less diamond-shaped scales that cover the body. The jaws are armed with sharp teeth. Longnose gar(Lepisosteus osseus) is the accepted common name of the fish but billfish and gar pike are also used. It has a very elongated and subcylindrical body. Walking back to the cars along the docks I flicked out my worn but trusty Rapala and let out the line so that when I walked it back to shore I could reel it all the way back in. Reaching shore I turned and started to reel pulling in all the loose line I'd let out when I noticed that the line I was reeling in was going out faster than I was reeling and BANG! I set the hook and the battle started. I quickly walked back up the docks to improve my position. My ... morebrothers. Uncles and cousins all noticed at the same time and I could see them out of the corner of my eye half interested and half jealous. The fish ran and pulled out line like a Pike and my reel screamed and rod bent. Get me a net" I yelled over my shoulder and they all scrambled. I only had 4lb line on this 6'6" medium action Abu Garcia so I had to let him run and follow him by running along the docks. After about 10 min everybody became convinced that I must have hooked a turtle because I was gaining line so slowly but I was bringing in line now, slow, but steady. Fatigue got the better of him then, I thought, and we were only in about 22' 25' of water here at the end of the docks. He was coming up but he was swimming up under the dock. I pushed my rod tip out to turn his head and get him away from the dock and when he broke the surface from the very edge of the dock he must have left the water by 2 feet. Splashing back into the lake he swam away from the net my Uncle Jesse had thrust into the water and started taking line again. Now that we'd all seen him we all became collectively paranoid that he was going to throw the hook or snap the line. I

No shipping as he is much too large and fragile to ship. This is an estate item and the mold was taken of the actual fish. It measures 61 1/4" long from a straight line taken from the center of the back fins to the tip of the mouth. If you measure at a slight diaganal from the upper rear tail to the tip of the mouth it is 62 1/2" long. The girth around the center of the fish is 40 1/4" and it measures 27" from the tip of the upper fin to the tip of the lower fin. Mounted on the wall he extends 16 1/2" from the wall. Condition is very good with some minor cracks and rubs. Colors are beautiful. We gave him a quick wiping but you can still see some smeary dust on him and the mouth is still loaded with dust as we forgot to wipe it. If you would like to pick up my zipcode is 17363.
