This Beautiful Trout measures 23 1/2 from nose to tail in the current arched mount. The fish if measured along the body with the curve is 25" long A very thick bull of a fish that protrudes at most 11" off the wall when hung The natural driftwood base measures about 22" from top to bottom As you can see the fish has split some on the back but it is not visible when hung I decided to leave it as is rather than repair with fiberglass or bondo like I have seen on ebay before. The tail has some minor wear from storage The fins are all solid but one of the back(Back meaning toward the wall. It is the front pectoral closest to the wall) fins has some crackling around base. It is not noticed when hung I am doing my best to give a complete and accrate descrition. Here is a real piece of Art and sporting treasure-you can't keep them anymore a big native Brook Trout from it's native waters in eastern Canada. Mount is old 50+ years old. And has signs of use, but is doing fine. This is not a modern repro or such. This is an old plaster filled/glass eyes mount As you can see. This is in it's original paint, it will have a new layer of laquer soon. This is not one of the new"comic book" looking trout. Vintage taxidermy mounted real skin Steelhead Trout approx. 34" long with 18" girth displayed on a two piece swivel plaque so fish can be shown at a different angle if you want and has a little play in it so it can swivel. The wood plaque base is 21" long and 8" wide. Top oval part with the base is 12 3/4" high total and 10" wide. Fish in overall great condition with great color and nice clean mouth. Fish needs a little repair in the tail area as you can see, it has a split in it not a chunk taken out, otherwise the other fins look good to me. I remember getting him back the following year and calling him Frakenstien because the skin on his back was pocked and not like it was when I caught him. none the less this is the most impressive Brown I ever caught on my years of trips. He has been on my wall for a long time. he is a skin mount an is a bit loose where he is attached to the wooden plank.but still ok to hang. He weighed in at 19 lbs and is 28 inches long and almost 10 inches from dorsal fin to the bottom of his belly. we affectionally called these browns"Footballs" when we landed them. What a memory!

Huge 47.5" Game Fish Lake Trout Hawkins Taxidermy Perma Trophy Canada
This is the biggest trout I have seen offered on eBay. The piece of wood it is mounted on is 48" long. 23.5" high. Caught in the summer of'92 up at Great Bear Lake. Canada, this 47.5" 48 pound monster was landed on a guided trip and, respectful of the Catch-and-Release laws, photographed, measured, and released. Detailed photos were then sent to Hawkins Taxidermy in Saskatchewan. Where their artists recreated the mounted trophy you see offered for sale here. 16 inch Rainbow Trout Fish Mount Taxidermy by Lyons and O'Haver San Diego Ca.
Lyons and O'Haver Taxidermist work is the best I've ever seen by far. The detail they go through just for this 16" fish tells you they really care. Check out the teeth in the mouth and the silver dots highlighting the scales. The tail looks translucent. Some one can use this to make a desk mount or just hang it up. And if you're into taxidermy use it as an aid to see what really can be done.
