Here's a vintage all metal Fenwick tackle box. It's in good working condition. But does show some scratches and scuffs. There's a couple small dings on it, but nothing too deep or ugly. The cork under the inside trays is in pretty good condition. The metal latch works fairly well. There's a little surface rust on the underside. It measures 19" across x 7-3/8" deep x 9-1/2" tall. vintage Wright and McGill "Granger Victory" Split-Bamboo Fly Rod, 4 pieces, tube
Exact item shown. This is a bamboo fly rod that assembles in 3 pieces. There are two of the thin end pieces. I weighed the three pieces that make a complete rod(handle piece. Middle piece, end piece) on my postal scale, it weighs 5.2 ounces. Each piece is 35 inches long. Near the handle there are two rubber stamps on the rod, one says"Granger Victory" the other says"Wright& McGill" The metal reel holder part of the handle says"Made by Wright& McGill Rod Co Denver Colo USA" it also has two patent dates- Pat Apr 12 1938" and"Pat No 2114107. The aluminum tube says"CHAMIPON" MFD by CAL-AIR Products Los Angles" Inside the screw on cover there is stamped" CAL-AIR Products Co Los Angles" This rod is from the estate of a relative who died a long time ago. It has sat unused for ... moredecades. I don't know anything about fly fishing. I have tried to describe the rod carefully, I see no damage, no wear, no stains, etc. There is some oxidation on the silver metal, not rust, and there is some darkening of the cork handle from holding it, othewise to me it looks absolutely like new. VTG WRIGHT & McGILL GRANGER 8642 Bamboo Fly Rod 8 1/2' STREAM & LAKE
The Granger 8642's have got to be the most iconic western taper bamboo fly rod in history. I like them because they are very versatile and can cast in all situations including when the winds pick up and will fish a 5 or a 6. My story this past summer included my first outing with an 8642 Special and was 3 days on the B_r River in Montana. We fished the upper head waters for up to 16" Cutts and the Special was a ball. Then we fished lower. Larger waters for nice sized, hard fightin' bows. I could not believe that I was making 60' casts with a hopper in the wind. Later in the day I switched over to a nymph rig and was amazed at how well it could mend the line. I even fished streamers with the fear of nicking the rod but it performed flawlessly. Now I don't know about you, but that is the type of waters that I normally fish, ... moremuch more than the dainty little creeks. I am having a hard time fishing with graphite again! This rod is very nice. But has a couple of minor issues. One guide on the mid has been re-wrapped with the correct scarlet red. It was done nicely and other than it looking slightly newer than the rest of the wraps, you can hardly tell. One tip had a splinter on the top 6" and has been wrapped in clear. It is even hard to tell in the pics and should fish like the other tip, which is excellent. The finish on the rod is near flawless and shines like new. The pics show the condition of the grip and seat. Ferrules have a nice fit. Sock is original but the tube is a few inches longer than the rod. Shipping is $13.50 to the lower 48 On Dec-14-12 at 14:00:49 PST. Seller added the following information: International shipping is incorrect. 2 Vintage Garcia Fishing Rods 1 Casting and 1 Spinning
1 Casting rod is a 2 pc. and measures 6'0" long it has 5 eyelets and 1 tip which are all intact although the wraps on the bottom are black and the wraps on tip are light red. The cork handle is in fair condition and the reel seat is in fair condition with the thumb screw reel foot lock working good. The only emblem of Garcia is on the reel seat and butt. 1 Spinning rod is a 2 pc. and measures 7'0" long and the only Garcia marking i can make out is in picture 7. This rod has 5 eyelets and 1 tip all wraps intact but the tip is bent and so is 1 eyelet. The cork handle is fair but is missing cork and the reel seat is in good condition. Vintage Fly Fishing Rod/Fenwick FF85 8-1/2' 3 3/4 OZ w/tube Super condition
Offering a super Fenwick Feralite. Model FF85, 8-1/2 ft, 2 pc, 3-3/4 oz. fiberglass fly rod with the original aluminum carrying case. The cloth case is gone. The rod is in exceptional shape. The eyes have no damage and the wrapping is in great shape. The cork handle has never had a hook in it and is damage free. The feral attaches well and holds nicely. The action is live. The line rating tag is still on the rod but I couldn't upload enough pictures to show everything. My guess is made in very late 50's or early 60's. Defininely before mid 1963 as that was the year the 5 digit zip code came out and Fenwick's address doesn't have that.only Long Beach 4, California. Considering that, this rod is at least 50 years old but looks like it was manufactured last week except the line rating tag is slightly loose and needs regluing ... moreon the top edge. That's not bad for a 50 year old rod. There is a dent or two in the aluminum case as can be seen in picture 11. The serviceability is in no way impaired. Feralite had not yet been patented when this rod was made as it says patent pending behind the word Feralite. Serial number is C 16723. Exceptional piece but I am downsizing and can't tramp the streams as I once did so here's a nice opportunity to own agreat rod. Low start. This is a vintage. Antique Premax Steel 48 in. rod in very nice condition. It is circa 1930's to 1940's. It has a tempered steel rod and diamond knurled walnut finished wood handle grips. The rod and the front part of the handle is in a burgundy color and the hand grip is a natural walnut color. Has a few scuffs. But minor stuff. It has a patent number 2206019 and a label or decal that says"Premax Made in Niagara Falls USA. Check it out in the photo's. I have seen a few of these but never in this condition. Phillipson Paragon fly rod 8 1/2' - 5 bamboo 3 section very nice original cond.
Today I purchased this Phillipson Paragon fly rod at an estate sale. I don't know really anything about it other than I have read that they fish very well. And I know they were made in the fifties. This is a 3 section 8 1/2' 5 HDH. It also has what looks like a small b with an 8 in front of the length designation. It is in very good overall condition for the age, and does not appear to have any real damage or problems other than very minor scuffs and scratches. It was obviously owned by someone who liked to use it, and it has been well used, but probably has a lot of life left in it. So I'm not really sure how this works, but I'm sure if your a fisherman, you will. It says on the box, you row your boat and Robotrol holds your pole. I can tell you that it is made mainly of wood, with steel brackets and hardware, which by the way, could use some polishing up. I do believe this was never used. It still has the original decal and the wooden wheels and spools look really neat. The box has seen better days, but its still there. Here is a old vintage steel fly fishing rod. Marked"Bristol" on the reel seat. There are 4 sections total and 3 of the sections extend out and self-store in each other. Lenght when closed is about 40 inches. The overall extended length is about 107 inchs(almost 9 feet) All 4 of the line guides are good(maybe some minor bends) The base section is 6 sided(hexagon) The cork on the handle is damaged quite a bit. The metal handle butt cap is present. Both reel seat clamps are good. I see no other damage or repairs. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. The bottom of the 2 nd part has 2 cracks. I think it could probably be drilled out and removed– not sure. Here is the BOX only for Ted Williams bait casting reel no.3998. It is split along the vertical seems on the label side of the top box or lid. The bottom has a split as well. Two sides of the box are stained. I don't know if it is oil or water staining. Inside the box were some instructions. A warranty card and other paperwork. I found it in a garage at an estate sale. Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod 4pc, Abercrombie? West Bend? LOOK
This is for a vintage Bamboo fly rod. The rod is 4 pc I think it is 2 ends and the middle and handle. i dont know anything about rods but this one looks very nice and well made. I can not find a name anywhere on this rod. Maybe the red handle will give it away to someone but I dont know. There is 2 problems with the rod. The first is the one end that connects the rod is detached(See Pic) and the other is the one tip on the one end is missing. The finish on the rod is very shiny and nice.
