Up for action is an Ultra Rare Hardy All Brass Perfect measuring 2 5/8" in diameter. This size is actually referred to as the"Houghton" Dry Fly reel made for the elite Houghton Fishing Club who's members included Royals and Aristocrats sporting trout on the famed Thames River. England during the early 1890's. The reel is in near excellent but uncleaned condition as pictured, with no cracks anywhere. Allcocks Match Aerial 4.5" Centrepin / Centerpin Float Reel
Up for sale is a mint condition Allcocks Match Aerial 4.5" centrepin reel. This reel is from my personal collection. The reel retains 90% all of its original finish. And the only paint missing is rubbed off around the rim, and a small patch(about 5 mm x 5 mm) on the inside of the spool. The remaining finish is perfect, and all the parts are original. The reel foot is shiny, and there are no marks or blemishes on the spokes. Allcocks label is clearly visible on the back. Spins flawlessly, with a small hint of a wobble which is un-noticeable and does not affect its function. Would make a great reel for the collector, but even better used on your favorite river for for coarse fishing. It pains me to let it go, but I no longer need a big collection of reels. There is a reserve price on this reel due to the collectible value, but it is reasonable ... moreso don't hesitate to place a bid. Vintage Shimano TwinPower 4000 GTX Rare Fishing Reel
Up for sale is a Classic Twinpower 4000 GTX made in Japan. This reel dates back to the early 90's and sports some of Shimano's early designs such as the first edition of AEROWRAP line Oscillation(worm gear) and also shocked to see a double spool bearing design. I recently opened this reel up and removed all the old wax like grease and hand polished each individual part then given a coat of fresh precision blue grease. This reel does not have the Super Stopper ARB bearing as it was before its time but a very reliable anti reverse Dog design which the clicking can be both heard and felt while reeling the reel. The reel also dates back before they corrected the slight wobble as all old reels have had but its still way ahead of its time. Also this reel boasts over 20lbs of drag(8kg) which is huge for an early 90's spinning reel. This ... moreis a very rare Japanese TwinPower and new back then was almost $300. It would make a great collectors reel or can go back on the water tomorrow on a vintage rod. This is a used vintage Penn Reels Senator 9/0 fishing reel that is in good condition for its age. Please see pictures. The last picture is of the yellow handle torpedo knob showing a brown crack in it. This same picture also shows some scars on the handle(chrome part) where this yellow torpedo knob attaches. The outer chrome rings are not cracked. I bought this reel off of E-bay about two years ago. I removed the old fishing cord that it was spooled with. My plan was to use this reel for high speed wahoo trolling on a short bent butt rod. After doing more research on the wahoo high speed trolling I decided to go with a Penn 80 International reel for an even stronger drag system which is needed for high speed trolling. Paypal only. EVOLUTION MINNOW BAIT ~ THIS BAIT WAS ONE OF ONLY FOUR LURES TO APPEAR IN SHAKESPEARE'S 1902 CATALOG William Shakespeare. Jr. invented the first level-wind fishing reel and was granted a patent for it in 1896. He founded his tackle company in Kalamazoo, Mich. in 1897. On February 5, 1901 he and a man named Wiliam Locher were granted jointly a patent for Shakespeare's first fishing lure, a wooden model of what was to become the Shakespeare Revolution casting bait. In short order, fabrication of this bait was converted to hollow aluminum and a second model was offered with a trailing Worden Bucktail treble hook. This model was to be known as The Shakespeare-Worden Bucktail Spinner lure and is considered a companion of the ... moreRevolution bait. These two lures, along with a third version known as the"Weedless" Sure Lure Revolution appeared in Shakespeare's 1902 product catalog. The fourth and only other bait that was shown in that 1902 catalog was the Shakespeare Evolution Minnow. It is toally unlike the three Revolution baits. This lure is molded in the shape of a minnow and has propellers on both ends that are mounted on a wire that extends through the body. It is outfitted with three treble hooks and was available in three sizes. This lure was last shown in Shakespeare's 1934 catalog. The lure we have here is one of those very early Evolution Minnow Baits. It is 2-7/8" in length and the propellers are marked"Shakespeare" and"Made in USA. Please check out the pictures thoroughly. It is in good condition considering that it is now likely to be over 100 years old. The hooks. Hardware and propellers are all good with a minimum amount of light oxidation. This is another very old Vintage/ Antique brass 2 1/4" ENRIGHT& SONS' platewind fishing reel. It is clearly stamped on the front plate with the maker's name; ENRIGHT& SON- CASTLE CONNELL' This particular reel dates back to around pre 1880(could be earlier) After this date they stamped their name within an oval logo. Enright& Son' can be found in Phil Waller's book; Fishing Reels' Collecting for all' Vol. 1 pages 39. The reel turns very smoothly with no rubbing. The back plate has the oil hole for servicing the reel. There is a very slight ding to the edge of the back plate which can hardly be seen. The foot is in excellent condition and has the cut away design of that early era. The is no corrosion or pitting to the reel. The handle/knob is in excellent condition with no splits or cracks. Up for auction is this older Hardy Bros. 4 ½ inch Longstone single action fishing reel. This reel has had a new drum piece replaced by a retired master reel craftsman from England that used to work for Hardy Bros. It has two large ebonite tapered handles and a brass ribbed foot which is attached to the frame with four brass screws. This reel also has an on/off casting/ratchet lever located on the side of the frame and a knurled drag adjustment knob located in the center of the drum. It is mechanically sound throughout and the drum spins very freely and true. Hardy’s name. Reel name and patent number 24245 is stamped on the back of the cage. In addition. There is an oval silver plate attached to the back of the reel with the inscription“Made For Manton and Co. Calcutta” Circa mid 1930’s making this reel approximately 75 years old! Vintage R. Wheatley Aluminium Fly Tin with Flies & Casts/Leaders ca. 1950s
This is an old. Square aluminium tin for fishing flies, made by Richard Wheatley, as you can see from the logo on the bottom flap of the tin(last photo) The tin is 10.9cm x 10.9cm x 2cm and contains 12 sheets with altogether 35 flies, which are tied to leader lines, plus there are more flies and leaders in the bottom of the tin. The tin has become a bit mottled looking with age, but is structurally sound, and all the flies and lines have been well looked after and are tidily arranged in the tin. Garcia Mitchell 6 00 Boat Reel. A nice example of t he popular Mitchell 6 00 in good condition. Been looked after. Lighter version of the 624. The 600 is ideal for pier fishing or light boat. Reel runs sm oothly. Some loss to the chrome on the rod mount as to be expected, pic 3. Small surface cracks around nut. This reel has a plastic corosion free spool. A good useable example.
