The wild, beautiful and unspoiled Missinaibi River is one of the longest (501 km) natural rivers found in North America. The Missinaibi offers challenging rapids for experienced canoeists and portage trails for those less experienced. The average width of the river around Mattice is around 300 yards. This river offers a wide variety of opportunities for wildlife and landscape photography.
The Missinaibi River was one of the most important fur trading routes connecting James Bay with the Great Lakes.
Many portages used today were blazed by voyageurs and trappers travelling along this river over 300 years ago.
Our canoes and kayaks are of the highest quality and have been designed to withstand the rigorous Northern Canadian rivers.
We provide a route planning service, dependable shuttle service, guides, equipment rentals, canoe/kayak rentals, and canoe trip packages from 1 day to 3 weeks on the Missinaibi River and its tributaries.
We also provide canoeing services on nearby tributaries of the Albany River. As well, we can make arrangements for special fly-in options.
