They were stamped RENTAL on the inside when I bought them at the Denver Flyfishing Show. They may have been factory seconds. I sent them to Simms repair a few years ago to fix all the holes and leaks. They also replaced the shoulder straps. It cost about $100. I'm feeling a slight leak in the right knee now but it may be condensation. The waders are stained from use. I'm including a pair of gravel guards with these waders. These were purchased in the 90's for a Winter Steelhead Float trip on the Salmon River. And were used that weekend only. Summer Steelhead only after that, way too cold in February for me, these have sat for years and its time they go. These have the removable insulation booties inside the boots, Size 12. The neoprene still looks nice, just creased from being in the box for a while. The felt sole edges are still sharp, slight discoloration. Selling at a fraction of what they cost back then, 375.00! Goretex laminate, waterproof/breathable over neoprene feet. My son is 5'5" slender with size men's 8.5 feet and has just outgrown these. They are perfect for a kid or a petite female angler. And you can see a BIT of discoloration if you look at the booties carefully. I certainly didn't wear them more than twice that first season, I know-and they haven't been worn since. 2 years old Simms g4 pro waders large long. 12-13 bootie size. One picture shows burn in fold out pouch. It happened from a hot rock flying out of the campfire. One picture shows tiny tear on right knee. It does not leak on the inside. These waders have been sent to Simms for repair and aqua sealed about 20 times inside the waders. I haven't done any brush whacking in these waders, and don't know why they sprung tiny leaks. Simms says it is inherit in the goretex fabric after time. I am tired of babying these waders, just to have them spring tiny leaks occasionally. When I say tiny leaks, I mean after fishing all day waist deep I would remove the waders and have nickel sized wet spots on my capilene leggings. A ton of life left in these waders. The material content is 75% Neoprene and 25% Nylon. The top pocket which has the Simms label Velcro shuts. The material looks like it has not had any use at all. There are a few spots that look like they might be dirty. I did not try to was them. As I am unfamiliar with this material. I think it's just dirt, but could be a stain. Up for auction with no reserve is a pair of G3 Guide Special Edition Waders. Size Medium Short, with 9-11 Foot. The waders are previously owned and were my backup waders for 2 seasons and really weren't used much as you can tell from pictures. The waders show normal signs of wear as you would expect but have many days on the water left if you know anything about Simms waders. Made with Gore-tex Pro shell technology, these waders are a souped-up version of the popular G3's. The main features that make them different are the improved suspenders with ventilated padding for all-day comfort and D-loop on back for a landing net, only offered now on the pricey G4's. The wading belt is also a lot nicer than what comes standard on the G3's. The Simms camo on the handwarmer pocket and flip-out pouch is also a nice touch. I did replace ... morethe thin, flimsy cord that was attached to the zipper on the handwarmer pocket with a burly para cord as seen in the picture.
