This was on our older manual Cannon Downrigger that had a slide base but im sure you can drill new holes and use it for Big-Jon or Walker downriggers as well. It is a good base. Pictures 1& 2 shows the top(wider than the bottom) about 4 5/8" x 5" and the bottom about 4 1/2" x 4 1/2" This is about 1 5/8" tall and the release lever is push down to release. Scotty Downrigger Swivel Base--Needs New Release Button
This is an older Scotty 1026 downrigger swivel base with the aluminum top plate. The base is in good condition with the exception of the the release button which is cracked and needs to be replaced. The base will not work properly as is because you cannot depress the release button to rotate the base without it breaking off. It has been glued together already. But the glue will not hold. The spool has no marks on it, the front pulley has no sign of use, the swivel base is nice and tight. the cable is good and spooled like it hasn't been used. When I received this unit there was no boom on it, just the unit and cable hooked to front pulley assembly and clips. I got a boom off a different brand downrigger and installed on this one. A rodmaster rod holder, a swivel w/lock base(only has one#1035 thumb knob- I have seen them listed on Ebay for $10 per knob and have taken that into consideration when pricing this unit) powergrip line release, extendable reel knob for easier winding, 150 lb stainless steel line with clip and counter(counter works but may have to release line in order to get it back to zero) Stainless steel tubing appears to be 1" with 3/4" diameter on the extension arm. Picture shows the unit non-extended. I purchased this used off of Ebay in 2013 fully intending to use it. It appears to be fully functional. I went to install it and it does not fit on my gunwale(go figure) so I ... moream selling it. Here is an old Cannon Hi low profile swivel base for cannon downriggers. This comes with the hi profile downrigger mount as well. This is different from the low profile swivel bases that you see by the hundreds on ebay. This one is built like a tank and is made from steel and aluminum. Cannon stopped making these many years ago because it was too expensive to make them from steel and aluminum. They started making the new low profile swivel base design which was cheaper to manufacture.
