On the one side of the reel are the words ABU Ambassadeur De Luxe No. 5000 AB URFABRIKEN- SVANGSTA Sweden. On the reel foot is the number 2003. It looks like someone scratched(or carved) Sp 2-73 above the numbers 2003 on the reel foot. There are a few minor scratches and smudges. Also with this is an extra spool and some parts in a plastic tube. Also included with this is an instruction booklet. The wooden box is dovetailed on the ends and has small closure and an emblem with the words KUNGI_HOVLEVERANTOR. There is a small sticker on the bottom with the words Made In Sweden. Up for auction is this very nice vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7000 reel. Very hard to find in this condition. This reel appears to have never been used. It has no chips,cracks,scratches,dings and the chrome and paint are shiney and clean has when new. The only flaw I can see is that the decal on one side plate is a little wrinkled(you can see this in the picture)This comes with the original box,papers and tube of oil,but the wrench and extra parts are missing. It is super smooth running and all fuctions are working as they should.The number on the foot reads:81-4 86-87.Check out the pictures,this is one of the nicest ones you'll come across.A great addition to your collection or just use it.Thanks!

This Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000c is in excellent working condition and is excepitonially clean for being a 1975 model. The reel is smooth and quite and has been cleaned by a professional reel service. The drag washers have been reconditioned. The brass polished, the bearings cleaned out and refilled with Hot Sauce oil. This reel is nice.

AMBASSADEUR XLT 1 SYNCRO BAITCASTING REEL This auction is for the pictured Ambassadeur xl syncro bait casting fishing reel. This reel is an early version of a low profile type bait casting reel. It has the following features: syncro drag system. a rear thumb bar release· a flipping selector switch on the top right sideplate rim. It has a double paddle handle· a magnetic spool adjustment on the left side plate· quick opening side plate to remove the spool· Graphite body· Ball bearing construction· Gear ratio of about 5:1 which was considered high speed then. But is a great reel speed for deep running crankbaits today. Cosmetically this reel has seen use and has boat rash on the rims and some scratches to the side plates. The decals along the side plates are faded with age and sun exposure. I’m not quite sure how ... morethe syncro drag works. I was recently told that if you back the handle up some it lessens the drag while under fighting pressure and that it goes back to the preset amount when you turn the handle forward a few times while under fighting pressure. I’m not sure this one works properly since I don’t have it tied to a fish to test that portion of the drag. But the drag otherwise seems to work. I can’t get it to tighten down to a dead stop but I’m not sure it is supposed to. The gears feel good and the level wind travels across the worm properly too. The spool disengagement button is a thumbar on the rear of the reel and is fully functional. The flipping option also works on this reel. The level wind travels across the worm well too. If you are into the older style reels like this Abu Garcia Ambassadeur this is a great opportunity to pick one up. This model ABU Garcia 5000c black color baitcasting reel was made in Sweden and is in remarkable condition. I doubt that it was used more than a couple of times. The serial number is a very low number and it reads 037200 which is a very low by today's standards. There are no condition issues and the reel does work well. The original partial box must have been stored in the garage along with the leather bag. The tool kit, and oil bottle because all of the stitching is bad on the leather case and the box shows slight signs of being in a damp environment. The original Owners Manual is in great condition! The reel must have been kept inside the home, and is estate fresh from here in NW Ohio. One of the nicest 5000c reels I have ever owned. Two fine Swedish made Abu free spool bait casting reels. One is a model 5600AB and one is a larger 6600AB. Both have features that include metal construction. Star drag, easy thumb screw take apart, thumb brake, and an anti-backlash system. The 5600 is excellent overall. The 6600 has a tiny tab broken off the thumb brake and it won't stay in place. Otherwise, it also is excellent. Two fine reels for one bid. Replace the thumb brake on the larger one, and both will be ready to fish.
