The only thing wrong we wanted to point out is the label is missing on the left side plate and one of the drag adjuster arms was bent down and has been straightened. This brown. Vintage Garcia ABU Ambassadeur Casting Reel was manufactured in Sweden in 1976, according to the lot number on the reel. This reel comes with the original box and book. The box says the following about this reel: Fast retrieve: Large capacity spool. Dual-grip power handles. Hand honed floating bushings. Two sets of brakes-centrifugal and mechanical for backlash control. This reel belonged to my dad who passed away 13 years ago. It was stored securely with his other fishing gear in one of his tackle boxes. He didn't do a great deal of fishing, so that's probably why it is in such good shape.

I am now willing to share with the winner! It's a very old one. Serial 492195. It is marked Abu Garcia, No. 5000, AB.11R. Fabriken Svangsta, Sweden! Included is the original pamphlet.The reel's line I think is original as well. The Kingly Crown is more sharp and legible than I have seen. It isn't all yuchie! There are minimal boat rub. Or paint loss on its topside! Please look the pictures over carefully. And consider your own budget. He said that he purchased this reel new. Spooled it with line to"try it" then he put it away. it has never been fished. He misplaced the box, but has stored it in this Crown Royal pouch(included with the reel) along with the owner's manual. The serial number on the bottom can be read upside down, so I'm not sure if it is 06-68 0-68, or 89-0 89-90. The reel is in VG+ condition. This reel has the beveled side covers and bares the serial number 760615 placing manufacture of the reel in 1976. This is a nice reel that functions flawlessly. Cosmetically. The reel hase some wer on the edges of the side covers and tips of the drag star. Despite the cosmetic wear, this is a solid reel that is suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection. This is an old Abu Garcia 5000. Red re e l with a bit of rash. Works ok. Other than the button doesnt stay down all the time. Not sure why? Dimpled f oot number is 721 200. Works fine as long as the button stays down. But like I said it pops back up pretty much all the time. Maybe hard grease? Expect to clean and oil though for optimum performance.
