This a very very sad story.SOMEONE decided to lightly sand and paint this treasure.I bought it from another ebayer, and removed the red paint and what you see is what you get.Maybe someone out there can nurse this back to health.or possibly it could be an upgrade to an existing reel that has lost its water-tightness, as this plate does NOT have any holes.According to pages 54-58 of the book by Mister Ambassadeur, Simon Shimomura. The Mystique of Ambassadeur Its Unexplored Stories" This belongs to a reel that was only produced from 1957-1958. The Roman numeral VII is etched inside as you can see in photo#5.the Ambassadeur or Swedish crest is in EX+ condition and the other metal parts are EX+.I really hope someone out there can put this part ... moreto good use. I examined the reel today I found 3 mirco(what ever u want to call them) You can see the in my second picture(the side of the reel without the handle) at 1pm the is a light v shaped scuff about 3 mm long- at 2:45 a nick a mm long and lasting- at 3:20 a straight stretch just in the upper most paint about a 1/8 of an inch long. The foot is impressed with the Serial number 730804 and the reel is in overall very good condition but cosmetically, does have some expected surface wear commensurate with age and use. The case is in good condition but with some surface wear and cracking to inside surface and wear to lacquer of brass catch with some subsequent oxidation. Vintage Abu Ambassadeur 5000 in V. G. Condition plus extras! L@@K!!
Up for your consideration is a early Abu Ambassadeur 5000 in very good condition. As you can see in the pictures it has some rash on top of the rims but is very clean along the sides. There is a bit of paint loss on the handle. The chrome is in good shape. No pitting or rust. It has a fat black spool that is consistent with its age. I also included a vintage lure, it says"Svangsta-spinn 4g 1/8 oz. The box is in rough shape but the lure looks unused. Somehow the plastic melted and I cannot take the lure out without hurting the box. The reel also comes with everything else you see,leather case, oil bottle(with oil) parts bottle, wrench and manual. This is a Ambassadeur 5000C black fishing reel. Reel appears to never had been fished with and is in near mint condition. Comes with a black leather case that does have some warping on the sides. Also comes with paper work. Oil, wrench, and full parts tube. Outer cardboard box is in good condition. However it does have one piece of tape on it and is missing 2 of the three pieces of styrofoam that goes in the box. Foot plate number is 107100. Up for auction is this very nice vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 7000 reel. Very hard to find in this condition. This reel appears to have never been used. It has no chips,cracks,scratches,dings and the chrome and paint are shiney and clean has when new. The only flaw I can see is that the decal on one side plate is a little wrinkled(you can see this in the picture)This comes with the original box,papers and tube of oil,but the wrench and extra parts are missing. It is super smooth running and all fuctions are working as they should.The number on the foot reads:81-4 86-87.Check out the pictures,this is one of the nicest ones you'll come across.A great addition to your collection or just use it.Thanks!

1975 Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000C EXCELLENT CONDITION
This Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000c is in excellent working condition and is excepitonially clean for being a 1975 model. The reel is smooth and quite and has been cleaned by a professional reel service. The drag washers have been reconditioned. The brass polished, the bearings cleaned out and refilled with Hot Sauce oil. This reel is nice.

AMBASSADEUR XLT 1 ABU GARCIA BAITCASTING REEL WITH SYNCRO DRAG
AMBASSADEUR XLT 1 SYNCRO BAITCASTING REEL This auction is for the pictured Ambassadeur xl syncro bait casting fishing reel. This reel is an early version of a low profile type bait casting reel. It has the following features: syncro drag system. a rear thumb bar release· a flipping selector switch on the top right sideplate rim. It has a double paddle handle· a magnetic spool adjustment on the left side plate· quick opening side plate to remove the spool· Graphite body· Ball bearing construction· Gear ratio of about 5:1 which was considered high speed then. But is a great reel speed for deep running crankbaits today. Cosmetically this reel has seen use and has boat rash on the rims and some scratches to the side plates. The decals along the side plates are faded with age and sun exposure. I’m not quite sure how ... morethe syncro drag works. I was recently told that if you back the handle up some it lessens the drag while under fighting pressure and that it goes back to the preset amount when you turn the handle forward a few times while under fighting pressure. I’m not sure this one works properly since I don’t have it tied to a fish to test that portion of the drag. But the drag otherwise seems to work. I can’t get it to tighten down to a dead stop but I’m not sure it is supposed to. The gears feel good and the level wind travels across the worm properly too. The spool disengagement button is a thumbar on the rear of the reel and is fully functional. The flipping option also works on this reel. The level wind travels across the worm well too. If you are into the older style reels like this Abu Garcia Ambassadeur this is a great opportunity to pick one up. Used in great condition Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Black Max UltraCast 3BB. Works perfectly and smoothly. Has scratches. Rash, some fading, dust, and some grime. Well used but also well taken care of and never abused. Comes with line but I am not sure the weight. This exact reel is the reason why some species of bass and other fish are almost extinct! Ok, JK.
