The level-wind mechanism runs on a full width, brass worm gear under the shroud at front of course, moving as the handle is turned, with 1 3/4" wide spool with 1/2" dia. alloy arbor turning on counter-balanced handle with large, double-end finger grip on one end& weight on the other, plus star drag underneath, both held in place on the stem with a chromed hex-nut in a cogged lock plate on top.See Photos) Left side-plate has the"ABU Svangsta" cost-of-arms) plate at front side along with"Made In Sweden" stamped in, just as you'd expect, plus has cast control dial knob at dead center over the spool end, and classic, concentric ringed"clicker" at back edge. You are bidding on a classic ABU Ambassadeur 5000 vintage reel. This was my Grandfather's and recently came across it while cleaning the basement. I am not a fisherman. Although it appears to be in excellent condition. The auction includes: Reel(4 screw with# 450545) leather case, owners manual, spare parts, oil container, and a small wrench. Not sure on the exact age, although based on a little research and the case(brass latch and crest) it is probably from the 1960's. I am confident that reel has not been used since the 1970's. I have not tested anything, with the excpetion of some quick back and forth, but seems very smooth. The interior lining of the case is beginning to seperate from the case itself. 2 Different Vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000 C Reel Lot 5000C Baitcaster
Hello you are bidding on a lot of two different Abu Ambassaduer baitcasting reels. Both the reel work fine but both are missing end cap for the middle of the handle and one may not have the correct screw(the small handled reel) The small handle reel. The handle wobbles and is not on tight so it may not be the correct screw. Both reels are used and have wear on them, both are made in Sweden and I they are also accompanied with a small box with some parts, I am not sure if they go to the reels but I am including it. This reel is used but in good working order. I believe it has a replacement power handle on it. There is some boat rash on the top and some smaller nicks and scratches on the rest of the side plates. Please look at the pictures for details. It does have the high speed sticker on the handle side. This would be an excellent reel for light freshwater fishing. Ambassadeur 5000C DeLuxe Reel RARE Engraved
Up for bid is a rare and highly desirable gold and black Ambassadeur 5000C De Luxe reel in excellant condition. Serial# 12436. Comes complete with original Teakwood Presentation box. Black velvet pouch, spare spool, reel wrench, spare parts, and oil. Very smooth ball bearing gears. Notice the rare gold and black counter-balanced handle. This was engraved and given to Govenor Bill Waller, former Govenor of Mississippi in the early 1970's. Notice the engraving on the reel along with the engraving on the nameplate on top. The inside of box has the earlier green(not red) velvet strips. The registration papers are still inside the box. The reel and box are both in great shape. But I have no idea if they have been used or not. I am selling as is. The pictures show it all.
