1962 Garcia Fishing Annual Catalog ABU Ambassadeur Reel Book Old Fishing Tackle
This is a lot of 3 fishing catalogs from 1962. They have fishing articles as well as new products and prices. Both Garcia books are copyright 1962. The first book with the bass getting ready to jump has a good spine. There is a piece of tape at the bottom going from front to back. Pages seem to be tight. Pages are white with no folds or creases. Order blanks are still in the back of the book. Second Garcia book has a good spine with only a 1/4" peel on both the top and bottom. Pages seem to be tight. They are yellowing and have creases from front to back on the lower right corner. If looking at the picture you can see the creases on the cover. order form page is there but is tore from the seam about 2" from the bottom. Fishing Tackle book. Spine has issues but pages are tight. The whole book is yellowed and the front cover is missing ... morepieces. There is also a coupon cut out of the book( see pic) If you have any other questions. Please ask. Ambassadeur & Millionaire reels, 5000c, 5000? , and Millionaire 5 HS
These 3 reels are all used but in good working order. All functions perform as they should and are absolutely ready to fish once you add line to them. The newest one is an Ambassadeur 5000 I believe. The label has worn off that showed the model number. The older black reel is an Ambassadeur 5000c with a replacement power handle with the red knobs. The Diawa Millionaire 5HS has a black power handle that I think is an aftermarket handle. These are not"display" reels but they are perfect for dependable fishing reels. Ambassadeur 5000D (X2), sn: 740400 & 741200
Two for one bid! Both of these reels have been cleaned and are ready to fish. The better one is very smooth and is in great shape except for the minor boat rash on the top of the side plates. It has the original handle and the line out alarm(clicker) is strong. The second reel has a replacement power handle and has quite a bit of boat rash on the side plates and wear on the chromed cross bars. It does work perfectly however and it's clicker is also strong. Ambassadeur 9000 in red manufactured by ABU in Sweden. The reel foot nr is 090600. Which represents a bit of a mystery to me. According to the usual interpretation of Ambassadeur lot numbers issued between 1964-1969, this would indicate a production in September(09" of 1966(06" This appears strange because the Ambassadeur 9000 was first introduced to the Swedish market in 1969(see page of Swedish ABU catalogue from 1969) In any case. This is definitely the first version of the Ambassadeur 9000 as indicated by the last 2 digits"00" of the foot number. In fact, this reel is probably one of the very first Ambassadeur 9000 ever produced. The reel is accordingly equipped with the"pancake" style handle. The reel comes with the original. ABU Record Ambassadeur 5000 MODEL SG(Sfaeriska Glidlager" = spherical bushings) in very nice original condition. The reel has been lightly used and there are a few nicks on the rims(see pictures) The reel does not show any corrosion and works perfectly mechanically. The reel has the typical dark-red color of the earliest Ambassadeur reels. The MODEL SG reels do not have a number on the reel foot and come with all-grey spool and starwheel brake. The MODEL SG is one of the earliest versions of the Ambassadeur reel and the initial deliveries were made late in 1952. The reel then made it's"official" debut in the 1953"Napp o Nytt" ABU's Swedish catalogue. Up for bid is a vintage Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Strike King reel. I got it from an estate sale. I haven't cleaned it up and appear's to have been oiled recently. It is in good condition with sign's of normal use. Everything work's good on it and is as smooth as new. It cast great, the drag is super smooth, and the bait break work's good. It has Strike King on the handle and the number on the cleet is 730601. This is a rarer Abu Garcia that would make a nice edition to any collection or ready to be used fishing. You are bidding on a classic ABU Ambassadeur 5000 vintage reel. This was my Grandfather's and recently came across it while cleaning the basement. I am not a fisherman. Although it appears to be in excellent condition. The auction includes: Reel(4 screw with# 389757) leather case, owners manual, spare parts, and a small wrench. The original oil container is missing. Not sure on the exact age, although based on a little research and the case(brass latch and crest) it is probably from the 1960's. I am confident that reel has not been used since the 1970's. I have not tested anything, with the excpetion of some quick back and forth, but seems very smooth. The interior lining of the case is beginning to seperate from the case itself and his name R. ENGDAHL, along with the reel# is neatly printed on the interior flap of the case.
