Up for auction is this very nice ABU Garcia Ambassadeur 6000C. The Original" baitcasting reel. It's in a glossy black finish and looks like it has never been used. I have listed it as used, because it was found at a local auction and I know nothing of its history. I'm unsure of the serial number coding system, but I think it may have been made in 2001, based on the number 010710/6 found on the bottom of the foot. It is marked saying it has a stainless steel bearing drive, a 5.3:1 gear ratio and a line capacity of 245 yards of 14 lb. mono. It is in super clean condition with hardly a mark on it. Mechanically, it appears to work smoothly and work as designed. In my opinion, it's like it just came out of the box. No box included, however. Up for auction is this very nice Bronson Safari 4800 baitcasting reel. These are getting harder to find. Especially in this condition. It rather modernistic in design, and, at first glance, it's to tell which is the front and which is the back. It has several very light scratches on the side plates, especially just in front of the handle, but none are glaringly conspicuous. One of the knobs wants to hang up a little, but it still works fine. There is a tiny nick in the big red agate jewel located on the handle nut- again nothingconspicuous. CABELAS MEGAROYAL PLUS LEFT HAND ROUND BAITCASTING REEL
Marketed by Cabelas in the 1990's. I think this reel may be the same/ similar to the Pinnacle Vision series, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Comes with an extra gear box and set of gears. I used this reel quite a bit for the first few years I had it, but it's been on the shelf for the last ten or so. I just serviced it and everything seems to work o.k. It's really quite a well-built reel. Both gear sets, while decently smooth, are a bit noisy. I don't think the handle assembly is original to the reel but it works fine. There is a crack in the plastic centrifugal hub on the spool, but it's still solidly attached and doesn't seem to be affecting anything. The reel weighs 11 oz. on my postal scale. Cosmetically, this reel is striking. It has nice black color to the side plates with nice plating and vivid graphics. There are some minor wear marks on the edges of the side covers and some very minor surface abrasions. Also, the crank handle of this reel has been replaced with the proper handle so there is a litle difference in wear on the handle vs. the drag star. The reel is in very nice condition with only a few minor marks keeping it from being mint(note scratches and pitting on spool tension cap) Operates like new- very smooth. Rare leather case has some separation of the leather at the front corners(see photo) but is otherwise also in very good condition. Accessories include oil dropper. Screwdriver/wrench combo tool and spare parts tube with assorted replacement screws, e-clips, handle nut, etc. Double-sided gold foil tag is missing original string which was ripped off. From the research I've done it's attributes date it to 1959/1959. I've had the reel in my collection for 25 years and I believe it to be all original and never used. Up for auction is a used Abu Ambassadeur Model 6000 baitcaster. It has the clicking mechanism and a"Lindy's" crank with red knobs. The reel is used and does have some rash on the outside of the side plates at the top and bottom. It also has the last name of Coleman. The last owner, I presume, etched on the bottom of the foot. The serial number on the bottom of the foot is 090802. Please take a look at the enlarged photos, as they accurately depict the condition of this reel. Cosmetically, the reel has a little wer on the top of the right side cover and the left inner frame. The left side cover has some minor oxidation. On the bright side, the reel does present fairly welll with bright vivid graphics and it's red spool. This is a solid reel that is very suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection.
