So it was used only in the factory or once or twice around the corner. Twin air chambers take up the whole top part of each leg. Creating twin low pressure springs. These are less prone to leaking than high-pressure springs and the big volume ramps up less as the forks compress. Too. Damping oil also lubricates the guts as it slops around. Rebound is a bit fast as standard. But internal adjustment only takes a couple of minutes. Once sorted, they squelch enthusiastically over any sort of terrain. Only getting overly bouncy if you charge long and hard downhill and fizz the oil too much for it to work consistently. Sealing and reliability are excellent. Though. Original WWII German Heinkel HE III Bomber Airplaine part id plate from crash
Bought this and a few other miltary items at an estate sale. From the brief research I did, during WWII there were two documented German Heinkel HE III bomber crashes in the sea port of Harwich England during the battle of Britain in 1940. The first crash, a very famous one, was on April 30th on land in a populated area, and the second crash was July 1st and the bomber crashed at sea. The part identification plate is consistent with other German WWII plates, particularly the Werk-Nr or serial# The plate is from a part of the bomb rack on a Heinkel HE III bomber. The plate is mounted on a piece of thin particle board along with a typed note and picture of bomber, board measures 8.5 x 5.75 inches. On the back of board in pencil you can barely read 1940 and some other writing. Was a GI over there and brought this back and put it all together? ... moreWho knows?
