Orvis Golden Eagle Fiberglass Fly Rod (Phillipson Epoxite)
Here is a(Like New) Orvis Golden Eagle 8' 2/1 6wt. It is in absolutely beautiful condition. The rod has had one owner and was very lightly fished when new and then stored safely for decades. These rods were made on Phillipson epoxite blanks and are the pinacle of a good fiberglass rod. For the Orvis or Phillipson collector this is a must have. The rod. As with all Orvis rods, is overated and stated to be a 7wt. The rod is not good with a 7wt line, it feels tippy. However, if you put a DT6 cortland peach444 on this rod, it truly is magificent. Some people claim to use this rod for bass. I used it on a spring creeks in WY and it was the perfect rod for medium size rising trout. Full flexing, very delicate presentations, and a true delight to cast. The 8' rod seems to pop up less than the shorter Eagles and is just as rare in this condition. ... moreOriginal bag and tube. 3 nice fly rods. LM Dickson 3 pc. bamboo rod. I believe it's a 6-7 wt. The name Amos has been lightly carved into the cork handle. I have been lazy about it. And haven't sanded it out. I do that for you if you want. The graphite rod is a Reliance 8" 6-7 wt. The Ted Williams rod is an 8"6" 8 wt. fiberglass rod. My grandfather taught my brother and I how to fly fish on one of these rods. Still a great rod to fish with. Thanks!

This rod was built about 12 years ago by a former fly shop owner in Mt Horeb. Wisconsin. It is built on a blank that was either a Fisher or Sceptre blank. It fishes best with a DT4F line, but will handle a WF5F as well. Very nice rod, casts well, no damage. Comes with the green rod bag in the pictures, but no case. Will make someone a great rod for small streams with lots of cover. I bought it new from the man who built it and have fished it perhaps a half dozen times.

This is a Curtis Creek Stalker four piece 8 1/2' fiberglass fly rod for a 6 wt. line. I am unfamiliar with the maker of this rod as the only marking is Curtis Creek Stalker on the rod shaft. But it is of very good quality with a brown blank and dark green wraps. It has spigot ferrules of the Fenwick or Winston type, a black down locking reel seat with two ceramic stripper guides, the second being smaller than the first. It comes with a heavy flannel rod bag marked Early Winters and the original plastic tube. It is in excellent condition showing very little use. Beautiful Shane Gray of Graywolf Built Mcfarland Fiberglass Fly Rod 6'6" 4wt 3pc
As you can see from the photos. This rod has barely seen any use. Very slight soiling to the cork and not a single scratch anywhere on the blank. This is a very sweet 4wt fly rod though it will also cast beautifully with a 3 or 5 weight line. This rod was put together by Shane Gray of Graywolf fly rods and it is evident of his amazing work. Unsanded yellow Mcfarland fiberglass in a three piece configuration with yellow glass spigot ferrules. If you are looking for a Mcfarland rod you know that the waiting period can be extensive. This is an 8' Cortland crown fly rod. Weight is 4oz. And it is recommended for 7 or 8 weight line. The rod is in very good to excellent condition. It has a nice reel seat. All eyelits are good and threads are nice and sealed. The original sock is included. The original case as well. The case has a break in it(see pic) There is a name written on the rod. Other than that. No other changes to original condition. It has never been broken or repaired. Shipping of fly rods is tough to do and expensive. I am going to cut and make a triangular box to enclose the tube as I can't find a tube long enough. The last rod I shipped was over 20.00 to ship. I put 20.00 on it from estimated cost. This is a very nice fenwick 7 1/2 foot fiberglass fly rod. Weight is 3 1/4 oz. made for 6 weight line. The reel seat is good and tight. All eyelids are real nice. Never been repaired. The rod has the original sock. It also has the original case. But the top of the case is missing. I will tape a triangle of cardboard over it to keep rod safe in shipping. This will make a nice rod to use for fishing. Shipping is estimated at 20.00. Rods can be expensive and tough to ship. As I have learned. Vintage Fiberglass Abercrombie & Fitch (Phillipson) 7'6" Yellowstone Fly Rod
Up for auction is a Vintage Abercrombie& Fitch Yellowstone Fly rod. It is 7'6" long. 2 piece, both pieces straight and the same length(Sorry, I forgot that picture) Looks like a Phillipson make. This is a rod meant for fishing not collecting. Everything is fine on it, it just shows a few signs of use. The cork handle is soiled but intact. The reel seat is fine. The wraps on the whole rod are great. It has a hook-keeper, a metal stripper guide, a metal ferrule, 6 snake guides and a tip/top. The labeling is decent, showing the New York, Short Hills, Chicago and San Francisco well. If I had to choose, I'd rate this rod as a 6 or 7 weight, depending on the targeted distance. It is smooth and relaxed in tossing a lot of line with a 7 weight. I don't have a rod sock, or the tube it should have come with. Used Heddon Pal 7' 6" fiberglass fly rod
For auction is a vintage 2 piece Heddon Pal fiberglass fly rod. The label reads Heddon Pal#8353 MarkII- 7 1/2' Fas-Tip Action Line-D-HDH or HDG. The lettering is quite clear. Seems like a 6 weight. Both pieces are the same length. The wraps are weathered. But tight, guides intact. The cork handle is stained through use, I'll let you clean that off if you want to. The reel seat has a cool copper cast to it, and has a neat spring-loaded release which moves well. It has a plain metal stripper guide, and now I notice that the hook-keeper has been pulled out on one side. Never noticed that when I fished it. The tube is original and is in pretty nice worn shape considering. Nice"James Heddon's Sons" label which is not filled out. Comes with the lid also. No sock. Classic Browning Model 222975 Silaflex 7 1/2' Fiberglass Fly Fishing Rod 2/1
This two piece 7 1/2' fiberglass fly rod is in excellent condition. No indication that it has ever been fished. There are no marks on the anodized aluminum reel seat. No wear on the ferrule. I am told that this was made soon after the Browning acquisition using Silaflex-made blanks. The reel seat is stamped with serial number 443159. This comes with the original bag and brown painted aluminum tube. A super quality rod for the fiberglass collector.

Classic Garcia Conolon 8 1/2' Royal Javelin Custom Fiberglass Fly Rod 2/1
The color of the wraps on this rod indicate that it was made by Garcia after the Conolon acquisition circa 1961-63. This rod is very good plus. The only flaw I can find is a break in the overwrap on the female ferrule-see pictures. This is an 8 1/2 foot 7-8 weight bass taper. These were custom built fiberglass rods with an unusual staggered ferrule configuration. The reel seat has a black plastic spacer and gold anodized aluminum fdittings. It is interesting that I can find no mention of Garcia or Conolon on this rod. It has the Royal Javelin decal and"Genuine Carballoy Tip-top" in black script. Another great rod for the fiberglass collector.

Vintage 7'6" Phillipson 3M Swamp Fox fiberglass Fly Rod 6 weight
For auction is a vintage 2 piece 7' 6" fiberglass fly rod made by Phillipson. Both pieces are the same length and straight. The labeling for the line and rod weight are worn out. With only the"6 line being legible. When I look at it now, the case could be made that it says#5 instead of 6. It does throw a 5 or a 6 weight line comfortably, I used it for both. A previous owner marked every 2 inches on the rod from 8 to 18. I, of course exceeded those markings in both directions with this rod. The wraps are all good on this rod. The cork is worn/soiled, as is the reel seat, but just from good use. The rod has a hook-keeper, a metal stripping guide, One double-looped snake guide, a worn(surface only) male fiberglass ferrule(see picture 4) a metal ring on the female ferrule, and 6 snake guides and a tip/top on the top piece. I don't ... morehave the tube or the rod sock that should be with it. This rod has caught many fish and there is no reason it can't help someone enjoy catching many more. Daiwa 1345 Fiberglass Fly Rod - 8', Two-piece, 7-8-9 Weight Lines, Made in USA
Daiwa 1345 Fiberglass Fly Rod- 8' Two-piece, 7-8-9 Weight Lines, Made in USA Excellent condition American-made Daiwa hollow fiberglass fly rod. Likely from 1978-1979. Six snake guides. A stripper, and tip-top. Reel seat is anodized aluminum. Black-over-burgundy. Ferrule style is fiberglass slip-over. Butt-over-tip. This is not a flimsy rod at all—it's strong. Smooth-flexing, and fast-for-fiberglass. Daiwa stickered it as a seven weight, but I think eight-weight lines might work better, and nines aren't out of the question. Line weights are the caster's call, of course. I could see this as a largemouth bass, red drum, big brown trout streamer, or Northern pike rod. No commercial tube or sock. But the rod will be secured for shipment.

The Orvis Fullflex Midge is a classic fiberglass fly rod. With Orvis Fullflex slow action for delicate fishing in small streams. The rod is 2 piece, 7 1/2' 5 weight with metal ferrules which I believe were only cataloged on this rod in 1968. The blank is Phillipson. This rod has many stories to tell as it has been well used and is in need of restoration, as can be seen in the pictures. The cork handle is split. Two of the guides have been taped in place and all are in need of rewrapping. Vintage Fenwick Fiberglass Fly Rod 7 1/2' FF756 Exellent Condition
7 1/2 foot. Two piece, Fenwick Fiberglass Fly Rod from the 1970's. Number FF756. This rod is rated for a 6 weight line, and sometimes I used it with one, especially in the wind. Usually I used one size lighter than the line stated on the Fenwick rods. It does really well withe a WF 5 or for more delicate fishing on small steams a DT 5 works well. I used this rod on medium size streams in Montana and Wyoming and liked it on breezy days. It is a little stiffer than some other fiberglass rods and can handle bigger flies and begger fish. As you can see from the photos it is in excellent condition, with no defects in the blank, wraps or cork grip. Minor fishing wear. The serial number is N285603. Vintage Custom Hardy Scepter Fiberglass Fly Rod 7 1/2" Excellent
7 1/2 foot. Two piece, 5 weight custom built Hardy Scepter Fiberglass Fly Rod. I purchased this blank from Fly Fishernan's Bookcase back in the 1970's and built the rod using black snake guides, black stripper guide, black tip top, deep copper color reel seat hardware with a wood insert. Down locking reel seat. The Septer is S-Glass and comprable to the Scientific Angler System series of fibergass rods. Blank color is dark brown, so I used brown thread wraps, with no color preserver so they are transparent. The wraps seem to disappear against blank. Hook keeper has a tiny ring. The blank has a glass spigot ferrule so there is no dead spot when casting. This fiberglass rod is capable of using a DT 5 line, WF4 or if you push it a WF 5 or even a DT6. I always used a DT5. This rod saw action in many small to medium size steams and rivers ... morein Montana and Wyoming in the 70's and 80's. Great small stream rod with delicate presentation, light weight and enough power to fish with on breezy days. Comes in a aluminum tube and a cloth bag. Excellent condition, with minor fishing wear.

Fenwick FF70-4 Fiberglass Fly Rod: Translucent 1964-1965
Fenwick FF70-4 Fiberglass Fly Rod Translucent E-series. Four-piece, seven-foot model from 1964-1965 that flexes easily and deeply for tremendous fish-on feel. Fenwick stickered this one as a six weight, and I'd say that's on the high end of the range. Think five weight and maybe four. For reference, this Fenwick's butt diameter is about the same as that of a Steffen seven-foot 2-3 weight. Finish is unscathed. Save for the Feralite ferrule junctions that show minor scuffing. Cork is astoundingly fresh. Clean, smooth, and grippy. Cased length is about 22 ⅝" Handy and portable. Of course. Tube. Intact, with lid attached, and Fenwick flannel sock included.

Circa 1965 FENWICK #FF85 8-1/2', 2/1 Fiberglass Fly Rod With ORIGINAL Labeled
Up for auction a rather Nice CIRCA 1965 FENWICK#FF85 8-1/2 FT. 2/1 TUBULAR FIBERGLASS FLY ROD WITH THE ORIGINAL LABELED BAG& CORRECTLY LABELED ALUMINUM TUBE. This example was built by the Fenwick Co. of Long Beach, Calif. sometime around 1965. It's marked with Serial#E1257(which would indicate a 1964-1965 model) but is also marked with the 1965 Patent number for the"Feralite" ferrules, so I assume it was produced later in 1965 or possibly even 1966. Rodshaft carries the"Fenwick Feralite" eagle decal and is also stamped"FF85- 8-1/2' 3-3/4 oz. and"A.F.T.M.A. Fly Line NO.7" above that. The"FERALITE" logo decal and"U.S. PAT. 3,186,122" are on the shaft up by the butt ferrule. Built with"brown" tubular fiberglass and comes equipped with chromed stripper, 8) snake guides, ... morechromed tip top, fiberglass"Feralite ferrules, hook keeper, copper anodized winding check, solid cork Half-Wells grip, gold anodized scre-locking reel seat with Fenwick Eagle logo, plastic buttcap and wound in brown thread with black& white trim. Rod is in about Fine+ condition for these, showing overall wear one would associate with normal use. Blanks are damage-free, equal length and are arrow-straight. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, tip top, ferrules, hook keeper, winding check and buttcap are in nice shape. The reel seat works perfectly, showing moderate wear. The solid cork grip is in superb condition. Put up in the original plaid Fenwick bag, which is in excellent condition and still carries the cloth inspection tag. All of this goes into the original Fenwick aluminum tube, which remains in very fine condition, with no dings or dents. Still has a virtually complete paper label, which is correctly marked for the rod. The chained cap screws on tightly and securely. Fenwick Feralite FF806 Fly Rod. Excellent condition. Many people feel the 806 was the best all around Feralite fly rod ever built by Fenwick. The tip of this rod has been replaced and the tip section is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than the butt section. I cast this rod along side a regular length 806 and could not tell any difference. Vintage Heddon Pal Pro Weight # 8381 7' fiberglass fly rod
Up for auction is a highly desirable 7' Heddon Pal Pro Weight model#8381 with rod sock(I do not know if this is original) The Heddon 8381 is one of the excellent vintage rods that have inspired the recent fiberglass renaissance among many knowledgeable flyfishers and rod builders. Graphite rods can't do what fiberglass can in this length and line weight: throw larger. Heavier flies while still flexing enough to cast well and protect light tippets. This is a great rod for big fish in small streams. Rod is listed as a 5 weight but will easily throw a 6 weight at close range. I hate to part with it, but I have to thin my own collection a bit! This rod has been well cared for and is in great condition for its age. All ferrules and guide wraps are original and tight. The finish. Cork and reel seat are clean. All wear is from normal use ... moreand age: a bit of scuffing on the reel seat and some staining and a small hole in the rod sock. Fenwick FF806 8' 6-Weight Fiberglass Fly Rod, Very Good Condition
Fenwick 806 Fiberglass Flyrod. The rod is in good condition all the guides are in very good shape. The handle does show sign of wear but still overall is in good shape. The blank itself is in great condition. I will be happy to answer any questions about this rod. It comes with a sock not an original and a Bass Pro Whites River rod tube. This rod is a true 6 weight, I like to use a 7 weight for larger streamers when bass fishing. Fenwick FF806 rods have been considered one of the top flyrod over the years the fiberglass has a old soft casting stroke throwback to old casting stroke with bamboo fly rods.

RARE VINTAGE PHILLIPSON FIBERGLASS FLY ROD
Johnson Reels Inc. owned phillipson from 1961 to 1964 there were 3 lines of phillipson crafted. Johnson profile rods. This is the profile 800 8f86 fly rod that is 8 1/2 foot long the 800 and 600 rods were made of scotchply material. All rods had nickle silver ferrules, finnished with gold tip top and stripper guides. And the tip top guide is the small size for precision casting as seen in the picture. The remaining guides are double spiral snakes. Therod blank and ferrels are painted golden brown. The main guide wraps are slightley darker brown with elaborate trim spirals that are darker brown still. The rod grip is a simple cigar tapering to all the way to the rod blank to allow a thread wrap from the hook keeper up onto the grip. The reel seat is a dark redish brown anodized down locking seat with gold cap and slip ring. In most opinions ... morethese are the most aestetically pleasing glass rods made. Also has custom rod sock. This rod is in mint condition and is hard to tell if it has ever been used. But it has and I have this rod comes from my own exclusive collection of about 9 other phillipson rods when I got this rod I had never seen another of any sort come up or seen any since making this rod very rare and hard to part with but as I have so many in my collection I am thinning the herd to raise money to start a foundation for children in foster care and others as well so they might experiance the joy of fly fishing as me and my own son so you might look for several others comming up as well as heddons and others. Beautiful mint condition Scientific Anglers System 4 Fiberglass fly rod. Metal tube, and sock. Length 7' 2" line weight#4. The blue metal tube has a bead chain attached to the screw on lid with a rubber gasket. The numbers on the two sections match. The cork grip and rod seat are mint as is the rest of the rod.
