Vintage 1950s-60s Cortland 8 1/2' Fiberglass Fly Rod
You are bidding on a vintage Cortland 8 1/2' fiberglass fly rod in excellent used condition. This rod was used very little or not at all. The cork handle is nice and clean with no dings. Scratches, separations, or wear. In fact it is a little rough. There are 11 line guides. The rod has no metal ferrule, and is made so the tip section is turned down and slides into the grip end. Rod is nice and straight and most of the original coating is intact. Comes with a cloth carry sack and the original aluminum shipping container. I think the rod was made in the late 50s or early 1960s.

Sparrow Fly Rod 7'6" 3/4 Weight 3 Piece Fiberglass Fishing
This is a Sparrow Fly Rod in 7'6" 3/4 weight 3 piece. This was a prototype e glass blank from cts that they custom built for me. The rod is more of a 4 weight with a softer tip although you could certainly use a 3 weight for longer distance. There is a little bit of mottling in the finish(darker and light) nothing severe but it is noticeable in some locations. Rod was built out with lemke naval bronze cap and ring. Snake brand guides and Hopkins holloway stripper. Cork is top quality with no filler. Rod is wrapped in black silk finished with epoxy. Tip but and ferrules are wrapped with a half spiral. Translucent white spigots. Blank is in a translucent finish that I've called"Japanese maple" as it's somewhat open to interpretation depending on the light. There are a couple scratches on the cap as seen in pic. The ... morenaval bronze has tarnished.personally a look that I like but you can see for yourself. Has probably been fished a half dozen times or less. Condition is great. The label reads"Sparrow" on one side and C78 Retro Rods(c78 stood for circa 78 which was the original name of the brand and Sparrow was the model name) I later went to"Sparrow" for the brand name. Classic Fenwick Sf 74-4 Voyageur 4-Piece Combo Fiberglass 7' Fly/Spin Travel Rod
This vintage rod is in very good to excellent condition. Weight of the rod is 3 7/8 ounces. The serial number on the rod is G 161629. The reel seat is gold anodized aluminum. In addition the cork grip has two sliding metal rings for mounting a spinning reel. This classic rod has Fenwick's Feralite ferrules. Everything is in excellent working order. This comes with the signature Fenwick green plaid bag and Fenwick labelled aluminum tube. Tube 23 1/4" long.

Fenwick Fiberglass Fly Rod FF-858 8'6" 8 weight
Fenwick Fiberglass Fly Rod Model FF-858 This is great used fly rod that is 8'6" and built for an 8 weight line. It is a 2 piece rod. Rod is in great condition overall with some light dings on the metal reel seat and very light scratches on the blank but they do not effect the action or performance of the rod. It is a K serial number which would date the rod to 1971-1973 time period. The tube and sock is included in the auction but it's not original. The tube was market FF 85 so it's for a different rod but still an FF series Fenwick tube and sock. You won't be disappointed with this fine fiberglass fly rod. I have several other FF series rods but don't really have a use for this particular model so I'm offering it for sale.

Up for auction today is a really nice vintage Browing Silaflex Fiberglass 2 piece Fly Rod. This rod is a model 322975. It is 7' 6" long. Weights 2.8 oz. and is recommended for size 6 line. This rod is in really great condition- I doubt it was used much! The decals and finish look great- there's very little visible wear! All of the eyes are intact. There is a tiny spot of tape residue near the cork handle. There is also a little rubbing or wear where the rod goes together, and a little bit on the end of the handle where the reel attaches. The original cloth case, and original hard plastic tube case are also still with this rod! The plastic case does show typical use wear. The original foil sticker came loose at some point and someone taped it back on, and there is other tape residue just below that where someone probably had their ... morename pasted on it. Sparrow Fly Rod 7'6" 4/5 Weight 3 Piece Fiberglass Fishing Rod
This is a Sparrow 7'6 3 piece eglass fiberglass fly rod that I had as a demo rod at the Fiberglass Manifesto for a period of time. Though rod is labeled a 3/4 weight but it is probably better described as a 4/5 weight. Blank finish is translucent"Japanese Maple" and is unsanded with translucent spigot ferrules. The rod has a Lemke naval bronze cap and ring hardware. The guides are bronze Snake brand with a gold Hopkins and Holloway stripper. Wrapped in black silk with half spirals at the butt. Ferrules, and tip. Epoxy finished. Cork has absolutely no filler! 1/4" rings with tinted glue lines. The rod is in excellent condition with very light tarnish to the hardware. There is a small chip in the finish on the 2nd section with several light scratches, and several very small spots on the butt section. There are also dark fibers ... morein a few location on the inside of the blank(came this way from CTS- the blank manufacturer)very difficult to avoid in translucent finishes. I will do the best I can to show these in several photos. I think you will be very pleased with the condition. I just wish to be as thorough as I can in the description. The rod has been fished, though not many times. The rod comes with a bag and an REC rod tube. Most pictures are of the rod new except for those of the mentioned nicks and a closeup of the grip at the end so you may see it's current condition(very minimal soiling as I cover my grips with cork seal which is a trondak finish that gives natural cork feel and appearance but still prevents heavy staining. Vintage Fenwick fly rod and reel. Clicker works fine. Reel Measures 3" diameter. Rod is fiberglass. 7'3" I don't know the line weight it is tested for. There is a sticker on the handle, but it is too faded to read anymore. The very top of the hollow rod is chipped just a little, where it goes into the tip part of the rod, but it still functions fine. There are some scratches on the metal below the reel.

Hardy Fibalite Perfection #4 7'2" fiberglass Fly Rod
Here is a Hardy Fibalite#4 7'2" fiberglass fly rod in excellent condition. The only blemish is a tiny scuff on the edge of the female ferrule(see photo 7) this in no way affects the rod but good to point out to collectors. Comes in the original Hardy bag and will be packed in a PVC tube. All the wraps and guides are perfect. The cork is lovely as well. This is quite a rare rod. I must note that whilst rated for a#4 line. I(and others) prefer it with a WF5F or even a WF6F. Super smooth, but just doesn't fit with my current needs.

Decided to list this sweet little small stream trout rod. It’s an early Wright McGill Featherlight. Model LWFF- 6 1/2' 2 piece, 4/5 wt. In good/average original condition. This is the early brown/tan model not the later cheaper version. Has one guide that’s frayed, some slight discoloration, darkening of the blank, but overall a great casting short lightweight fly rod. Would make a great backpacking and/or rod for panfish.

Up for auction is a Sage B476SFL fiberglass fly rod from of my personal collection. This is a 2 piece rod. 4wt, 7'6" A little bit of history. Sage manufactured fiberglass rods from 1978/79-83. Sage started out in 1978 as Winslow. But later changed their name to Sage due to a similar name to Winston Rods. This being said my rod is silk-screened"Sage" so it was manufactured somewhere between 1979-83. My rod was manufactured as a blank, which is represented by the"B" It was"built up" by a rod builder from Saginaw, MI in the mid-80s. I don't know any history on the rod builder. I have personally fished the rod once. Other than that it hadn't been used in 20 yrs. Overall its in good condition. Vince Cummings Fly Rod Ultimate Fiberglass
This is a rare and special Vince Cummings Ultimate Fly rod. As shown in the photographs both sections of the rod are in fine shape and of equal length. Total length of the rod is 7' 6" A five weight line works best for this fly rod. Vince Cummings is a famous fly rod builder. He was from Hudson Valley New York. Mr. Cummings is best known for his fiberglass fly rods due to his fine build quality and his unique tapers. He also made rods out of boron/graphite composite. Bamboo and graphite blanks. His rods are collectable and are a joy to fish. This rod was built in 1974. A sticker shows the original owners name. Each Cummings rod was hand built and this rod lists his common inscription of"Custom" on the blank. The guides in the tip section are spiral wrapped by Mr. Cummings. This design feature is shown in the photographs ... moreand the rod casts a straight line. The typical Cummings action has a delicate hooking tip that rivals all but the finest bamboo. McFarland 8'3" 7wt. 3pc. Fiberglass Fly Rod
I am selling my McFarland 8'3" 7wt. 3pc. rod. I ended up grabbing a similar 8'4" 7wt. 4pc. rod built by Mike and I have also acquired a few other 5/6/7wt. rods. So I am scaling down. I built this rod to fish. But it still looks pretty good. The only thing I would point out is the thread color is different on the hook keeper. I think it still looks pretty good, but some may not like it. I used a Lemke all anodized aluminum reel seat that is saltwater safe and the stripping guide is solid titanium made by American tackle. The rod is in very good condition and has only been fished a handful of times. Rod comes with a PVC cordura covered case(green color) with divided sleeves built in. I can't make out the model# But line weight is HCH(7 weight) The rod overall is in fair condition. On the grip. There is a gouge taken out just below the winding check, size is about 1/8" by 1/4" The blank is in ok condition, but is well worn and kind of rough. Not sure if wraps are original.Ty The tip section is about 3.5" short, and affixed with a crude tip top. Also, the guide just below it has wraps that are coming undone. I have not fished this rod. Decided to list this Berkley Parametric. It's the later imported model of this great casting rod in a 6 weight. Model P40 2 piece, 7' 6" spigot ferruled. In very good almost unfished original condition. Decal has some slight scuffing. This is a great casting Para and a really hard to find shorter version of this Berkley series of rods. About as close to and all around trout rod as you will find. Would be really good for tailwaters, larger rivers and/or lakes.

Vintage SCOTT Fiberglass Fly Rod 2 pc 8ft 4 wt -- RARE ! EXCELLENT COND!
This is a beautiful Scott fiberglass rod. It is a two-piece 8ft for 4wt line. I purchased the rod new in the 70's. And it is in superb condition. It's serial# is 79- 2731. There is no sun damage; all ferrules and wrappings are excellent; and the grip has no damage. The rod doesn't even appear to have any scuffs or scratches! If you know glass. And the quality of the Scott glass rods, in particular, then you know how great this rod fishes! It has good punch in the throw, and a wonderful tip section that graphite can never duplicate. The rod comes in it's original case. I believe that its sheath is also original. Though it does not say Scott on it. If you have any questions. PLEASE ask before you bid, as I do not accept returns. Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and Riffle? project rod
This auction includes one Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and one project rod. The Lamiglas is the 6'6" 3 wt version. I installed a Hopkins/Holloway tip top on it. The project rod is a 5'6" fiberglass blank with spigot ferrules. My best guess is that this is an older Riffle blank. But I can't verify that. I can't even verify that it is a fly blank, but it is a medium to medium fast action blank that feels suited to a 4 or 5 weight line. I installed a short cork grip(4 1/4" and reel seat with blued nickle silver fittings and a black tip top. The ferrule fit will need to be adjusted because the male end is slightly undersized at the very end and it doesn't fit perfectly.

Absolutely beautiful 8ft 2pc fiberglass flyrod be HI. This thing looks like it has never been cast. Cork is perfectly clean. Ferrules show no signs of ever being put together(I've had it ten years. And it's never been together) On rod says"1208 8' 109 Tournament Taper" On cork says"Thermoweld Tubular Glass Rod" Case has some sticky residue on it from tape? I may try to clean up a bit. Rod has Foul-Proof guides and a quality aluminum ferrule with O ring. Reel seat is unique, has a fighting butt which you turn to tighten or loosen seat. Vintage Phillipson fiberglass spinning / fly rod
Offered here is a Phillipson Master model G-MS562 five and a half foot spinning rod. I've included this listing in fly rods because. As you can see from the second photo(the indentation on the cork handle) the previous owner used this as a small stream fly rod. He only fly fished. More on that later. The wraps, blank, and handle all excellent condition. There is a slight knocking sound at the metal ferrules that wouldn't be noticed while spin fishing. This can be corrected as vintage aficionados know. I didn't want to attempt it. About the previous owner. His primary rod was a Shakespeare 7' 9" fly rod called the Trout. 1950's I believe. It is well used. His use of this model as an occasional small stream rod peaked my curiosity. The common cents test showed this rod to have an ERN# of 4.04. A 4wt. Lacking any 4wt ... moreline, I yard cast this with 3wt DT line. The rod loaded well with just 10' of line out. This is an exquisite and very rare Hal Janssen Fiberglass rod. It is a two-piece 8ft 4" for 4wt line. I purchased the rod new over 30 years ago. And it is in absolutely superb condition. It is the Chalkstream model#5-81 with serial#033. Hal Jansen was inducted into the Northern California Federation of Fly Fishers Hall of Fame in 2012. This year. His book on'Stillwater Fly-fishing Secrets' has terrific reviews. Hal Janssen is famous for his tremendous innovations. Many are summarized at the following site: This is not a rod with Hal Janssen's name on it; it is not a sponsored rod; it is a rod made by Hal Janssen. Himself. The design is different; the construction is different; and it fishes differently from any other rods you've seen. It's tip section is a full 1 foot longer than the butt section; the guides are different; ... moreand the wrappings are different. Take a close look at the photos. Note the transition used from grip to rod(photo 6) note the structure of the guides on the butt section(photo 7) vs the guides on the tip section(photo 8) and note the short length of the wrappings used on the ferrules. There is no sun damage; all ferrules and wrappings are excellent; and the grip has no damage. There are a very few scuffs. And those few are very slight. Since I can no longer fish. I've been selling my collection slowly for the past few years. In this situation, you save the best for last, since you just don't want to part with it. This is the best! It is beautifully made. Provides an incredible action and control, and is an absolute dream to fish. The rod feels like a one piece rod connecting you to the fly, and feeling the slightest of strikes. It is very rare!
