Tom and I learned about a machinist named Jerry St. Pierre who lived in Royal Palm Beach Fl. who had been a shop foreman at Pratt Whitney in their aerospace division and was now retired. Tom had Jerry make a very small number of"Wedding Cake" style fly reel using the parts left over from Fin-Nor. Jerry. An amazing machinist, put his considerable talents to work making the parts that were missing and in the process the"Rechy Cake" or"Fakey Cake" reels. As they were dubbed, were born. The results were reels that were considered better than the original reels by the lucky few people that got to fish with them. Jerry built the reels to finer tolerances and the drags on the reels are as smooth as silk. The reels built for Tom were mostly gold and black reels. Jerry built this reel. Made it special and kept it for himself. He took a little extra time and added a few extra touches to make it different and to dress it up a bit, a reel he could be proud of. You have an opportunity to buy a very early 1950/60 FIN/NOR 12/0 2 speed REEL hand made reel FIN/NOR started building reels in 1933 in Miami Florida way before all of the computerized equipment is used in today's manufacture. To this day their revered as some of the finest reels ever built the serial number is 194 and it has the striking stop and the very early bearing cover with the Marlin and paddle. Although it has been used it is in good condition for a real that is over 50 years old it is in excellent working condition and could go to sea tomorrow. This is a Rare Vintage find from a Key West. Florida estate sale. This is the second of two identical rods I acquired. The first rod I sold on eBay already. It is a Vintage Heavy Big Game Trolling Rod that was custom built by Beach Bait& Tackle Shop in Ft. Lauderdale. Florida. The rod has 5 Vintage Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Aluminum Roller Guides. The rod is in very good condition considering its age. The Tycoon Fin-Nor Guides are in very good condition and numbered underneath in sizes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The Roller Top Guide is an AFTCO size 26. The guides are all silver in color, and the rollers all roll cleanly. This Big Game rod is 6'11" in length. And has an Aluminum Butt with Gimbal, and Aluminum Reel Seat. I believe the Aluminum Butt is detachable, but I am not sure. It looks like it is, but I cannot remove it, and I don't ... morewant to force it. The foregrip is, i believe, cork and covered with a fuzzy blue material. There is a small chipping section on the top of this foregrip near the reel seat, allowing me to see, what I believe to be cork underneath. Also, a small chipping section of foregrip on the top near where the rod begins. The flexcoat is in good condition. I would rate this rod in the 80- 130 LB class. If you are looking to add to your reel arsenal then take look. 4 spinning reels for very little money. All work and are in decent shape. The black Silstar is a bait runner for surf casting- if you don't know bait runner go on line and check it out- this is the reel to use when fishing bait from a sand spike. Allows light drag to allow easy pick up by the prey and then easy setting of the hook. The Fin Nor is a work horse and served me well for Bontio. Blues and Albies for years. The Shakespeare is a great little reel I used to catch bait and it has new 10# braid on it. Vintage Fin-Nor 12/0 (130lb) 2 speed reel
Minor scratches but no obvious abuse. No noticeable corrosion or pitting. There are 4 small nicks in the side of the spool(see pic) F 342 stamped on left side and there is a 103 stamped on both the reel seat and lower frame. The reel and drag operate smoothly and quietly and it appears to be in excellent operating condition.

This incredibly smooth spinning reel is in very good condition. Silver finish has a few scratches. Currently set for left-hand retrieve, this reel can be converted to right-hand retrieve. It is rated to take 6, 8 and 10 lb. test monofilament. The back of the body has an anti-reverse lever. There is a serial number on the bottom of the foot, hard to decipher. Vintage Big Game Rod w/ Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Roller Guides & Detachable Butt
This is a vintage Custom Made Big Game trolling rod. It has 5 vintage Tycoon Fin-Nor Roller Guides and Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Roller tip. It also has an Aluminum Detachable Rod Butt. I do not know the manufacturer of the rod butt. The rod measures 6'7" in length. I don't know what the rod rating is. But in my opinion, it is rated for 50 LB test. The reel seat is in good condition and it detaches from the rod just fine. When the aluminum rod but is screwed into place. There is a little bit of side to side play when you hold onto the cork foregrip. I don't know why it does this. Perhaps just vintage wear and age caused this. The Tycoon Fin-Nor Miami Roller guides are in good condition. But have saltwater rash inside. The rod is in good condition with nice wrapping. I have described this rod to the best of my ability. These FR-8 reels were the last high quality saltwater reels produced in Florida by Fin-Nor before the company was sold. Both reels are setup for left-hand retrieve and come with their individual Fin-Nor neoprene reel case. A leather presentation reel case is also furnished with this auction. As well as an original blue and white Fin-Nor container. The rod is made of Bamboo- flat on top and round on the bottom- boat like. It has a rare butt stock with standard two lines on top of handle and two lines on bottom of handle. Heavy Duty Fin Nor Rod Big Tuna Marlin Shark Swordfish Vintage Tycoon
Ultra heavy duty rod with solid aluminum rod butt. Circa 1950-60's is my guess. Bent handle is huge and heavy and would fit right with a 14/o or 16/0 reel. Rod weighs about 13 lbs. Made for trolling for giant tuna and grander marlin. Low starting bid. Each roller(except the tip) has"Fin-Nor Tycoon Miami" on one side and"Patent Pending" on the other. Rod rollers are aluminum with a light gold anodizing, tip is a double pin roller. The only marking on rod I found was"Slick" nicely hand painted in 1950's style.

Fin Nor 12/0 2 speed reel and custom Aftco bent butt rod
This is an older 12/0.130 lb. rod and reel. The reel has the numbers 12 and 816 on it. It is filled with 130 lb. Dacron line. The rod is custom made with an Aftco bent butt and Fin Nor roller guides. They have been well maintained. The rod case is included, but the exterior is in poor condition. It does latch and the interior definitely protects the reel when it is not in use. Be sure to ask questions or request more pictures prior to bidding as no returns will be accepted. I hope the buyer has as much luck landing the"big" ones as I did.

Original Fin Nor Ahab#16. Will hold 250 yds of 16# mono. It has been on 2 boat rides and never dropped a bait in the water. Boat is gone and this reel has been sitting in the closet inside my home. Spooled with 65# power pro and a 30# wind on fluorocarbon leader(Both have been on the spool for years) The real is in perfect working condition. 10/10. Appearance is a 9/10 due to chip on the foot(Pictured) Original box and paperwork included. This is the original heavy duty Fin Nor with Mega Drag manufactured in the 1990’s which is when I purchased it from Boaters World. Paypal only and no International Bidders please.

FIN-NOR AHAB 80W 2-Speed Fishing Trolling Reel - Excellent!
For sale here is a FIN-NOR AHAB 80W 2-speed trolling reel and it is complete with its rod clamp and retaining nuts. This is a big game trolling reel and accordingly has a line capacity of 1000 yards of 80 lb. test mono and of course a much larger amount of braid. It is presently fully spooled with what appears to be excellent condition mono but of unknown strength. Its gear ratios are 3:1- 1.4:1. The manufacturer's suggested list price was $1.199.95 which is pretty pricey for any 80W reel. Serial number is DSD 0215. This reel has showcase cosmetics with only very light boat rash. It operates perfectly well in all regards. The scratch on the left side plate is WAY overstated in the photo. It actually is very light. The AHAB is the bridge model between the famous"legacy" line of FIN-NOR 2-speeds and the current SANTIAGO models. ... moreIt was manufactured. I believe, between the late 1990's and early 2000's.
