This reliable rig was purchased a little over a year ago for both personal and guide use. I no longer need it and although used. Is not abused. No major wear. We're talking both rod and reel as well as a Cortland precision WF#4 Floating line(one of my favorite lines) I am leaving the factory loop on however I'd suggest a fresh nailknot+butt section be added. The reel is the 4/5 model. The rod comes with the tube and sock. It's ready to fish! No need to spend tons of money on fly fishing. I'd call it a solid and quality all-around trout/panfish etc. rig and by a reputable company. The action is not super fast but certainly not slow. Great for dries actually. You will note the close-ups showing some spots of wear. These are the worst you will find and most of the rig is clean. The rod is in very good condition.

The wood looking handle looks like a cork type material. Billy Pate Salmon fly fishing reel. Left hand retrieve. Anti-reverse. Gold and black. This reel is in very good condition but does have a number of minor scratches on the gold side of the reel. Please see pics. However, this is a workhorse of a reel and is mechanically excellent. Included is the original box with original reel pouch. Pouch is in excellent condition. Box nearly so. Also included is backing and a fly line. I don't know what weight the fly line is. Probably an 8 floating. Instructions/parts list sheet also included. I am not sure but I believe this reel is currently around $500 new. I am not sure how old this is but the serial number is U469. Anti-reverse means the handle does not spin when a fish is taking out line. With most fly reels. Including Tibor's other reels, the handle spins backwards as a fish is pulling drag. ... moreThis means you can keep reeling when a fish is taking drag, keeping on the drag pressure without slack, and your knuckles won't be(potentially) injured by a spinning handle. Up for sale is a Vintage"Rare" Department Store Fishing Rod. Reel, Line, Lures Gift Box 1940's. This is a rare and very unique tackle gift box. There is no markings on the box to tell where it is from and I can find no records or pictures of this type of a gift box. I have had this set for a period of time and have searched to try to find information on where it is from and what was originally in the set. I acquired this set in a tackle collection from a gentleman who had collected tackle for over 60 years. The rod is a four piece metal rod with glass agate eyes with nickel/silver guides and are silver solder. It measures 53 1/4" with all sections put together. The reel is a Lion LW reel No. 1800 made by Bronson Reel Co. made in U.S.A. The reel and line are in good condition with all functions in good working order. The ... morewooden spool of line is Cortline Brand by Cortland Line Co. Inc. The spool is in good condition and still has some line left on it. The lure on the right is a Pike Oreno made by South Bend. This wooden lure with glass eyes is in very good condition. The lure on left is is a rare Heddon Dowagiac No. 1800 Crab Wiggler in a frog pattern. This wooden lure with glass eyes is in very good condition. The gift box is in fair condition. The inside of the box looks good and shows well. The outside is in rough condition with black tape around the edges. This gift box set I think is from the 1940's and is very hard to find and find out much about. It will make a"WONDERFUL" addition to collection! They say pictures are worth a thousand words.
