When the 1451 model was a mainstay in the Shakespeare fly fishing rod lineup. Cork handle is in excellent shape. All connecting joints(2) in excellent condition and work perfectly. Tip top and all of the line guides and material used to keep them in place are excellent. There is no reason to think the pole wouldn't fish as well now as it was able to when it was brand new. Shalespeare's composite poles from this era were mostly like this- straight fiber rods with spiral markings. They were less flexible than today's composite poles and not as light. It is about 14 1/2" long. 6 1/2" deep and 7 1/2" high not including the handle which is 4" high. It has a locking belt buckle at the top door and a leather carrying strap at the back.
