Not sure where or what company actually manufactured these reels for Cabela's- possibly J.S. Sharpe of Aberdeen, Scotland. Reel can be fished with right or left hand retrieve by simply reversing the position of the click pawls. Reel and extra spool are in good condition with frame edge and spool rim wear typical for a relatively little used reel of this vintage. Includes Q3 neoprene double reel case in very good condition. ROSS EVOLUTION #2 FLY REEL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
Here for your consideration is Ross Evolution#2 black fly reel in excellent condition. I purchased this reel new in 2006 and have used it often. But have taken very good care of it. I recently had the drag serviced by Ross(routine) and the drag and overall function is strong and smooth. There is a little edge wear on the reel foot from having been installed on a rod. There is one nick in the finish on the outer edge of the front of the reel frame on the left side(see picture) and also at the leading edge of the bottom post of the reel(also seen in pictures) from contact with fly line. All very minor. The original box, neoprene reel case and instruction/maintenance booklet are included in this auction. I do not have the warranty card. Here's a rare and Exquisit Vintage Antique Pre-1900 Fly Fishing Reel(made of wood + brass + horn) it has a click drag which is engaged/disengaged by the brass button on the back. All gears and drag working parts are made of brass. Reel handles are made of some type of horn with brass fittings. brass button on front is to remove spool from seat. The spool and the back of the reel seat are made of unknown hardwood with some light grooves engraved into them. The back of the spool and the reel seat have some machined tin or aluminum so that dirt doesn't enter the drag assembly. Reel has no indication of manufacturer Working condition is excellent. Click drag works great- you could take this out and fish with it immediately. Spool spins freely on spindle when drag is removed. Note: one tooth is broken on the drag gear, see photos- doesn't ... moreeffect operation. Visual condition is excellent. Shows no sign of wear, except where your finger nail would rub next to the handle and wood has a scratch or two and neither are really even worth mentioning. Fin Nor No.3 right hand wind anti reverse fly reel
This is a rare No 3 anti-reverse Fin Nor fly reel with a right hand return. It is in excellent working conditon and it is in decent show condition. Look at the photos. I always use a flash to reveal the tiniest signs of wear. This my best one and I would like to keep it. But my other 3 works just fine. If you are going to own one saltwater fly reel. This is the one. It holds 300 yards of backing and spool size is about the same as the No. 4 but the reel is lighter than a No 4. This is the one you want when you are fishing for bone fish and that school of big tarpon glides by. Or better yet. When that school of big permit comes up on the flat. Start at $200 no reserve.
