All of the mechanical and functional aspects are in very good condition and the reel feels and sounds very smooth. There are no bent or warped parts. There are some abrasions and scratches on this item(as shown in pictures) Someone has scratched their initials(NFM" NFFM" and what looks like"VIFF" into 3 interior sections on the reel(not visible when reel is operationally assembled) and 2 exterior areas(where it is mostly visible under the right light) Please refer ... moreto the pictures(I have documented these 5 areas) The black paint on the interior of the spool is worn and there are several scratches including one of the initialed areas(refer to photo) The top of the drag adjustment knob has 2 small nicks. According to Lee Wulff there were only 100 of these made. 3 1/2" diameter. 1 1/8" wide spool Designed by Stan Bogdan for Wulff. Black anodized frame and spool. Perforated tail plate and spool flanges. Rim control spool that Wulff claims was the first ever built. Useable as either a right or left hand wind. Excellent- condition with tiny rim nicks and one rub at the base of the tail plate rim. I believe that some of these were actually made by Stan Bogdan. Though it is unclear which and how many. You are bidding on one vintage Copy of a EXPERT No. 22 Fly Reel. There are no markings on the reel as to manufacturer. This reel has nickel or possibly cadmium plated brass construction. The plating is in fair condition with no polished surfaces. It could be other than nickel(see photos) There is a rear frame clicker with a slide button on/off control. The clicker engages, but is weak. It is in working condition. The handle has a plastic or hard rubber knob. The reel measures 3-1/8" diameter, 2-3/4" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-11/16" long by 5/8" wide. It weighs 10.4 ounces, with packaging it will ship below 1 pound. Some of the differences I see from the Meisselbach Expert No. 22; this reel has a ... moreseparate foot attached. It is very similar in appearance and size, but the details are quite different.

No signs of rust or corrosion anywhere. Just needs a little cleaning. I do see a couple of very light scratches on the black side of the reel but hardly noticeable. The fly rod is also in very good condition. I don't see a mark on it. Eyes are pristine. It's a“South Bend Black Beauty. 3685, medium action, graphite composite, 6/7 line weight. There are light scratches around the edges, but overall it's not all that bad. No real damage other than cosmetics. I tried to take pics of all the scratches. Foot is fine. Drag works and tightens/loosens progressively. It is stored with the drag released. Currently set up for left hand retrieve, but is easily converted to right had retrieve if you so desire.
