NICE VINTAGE PHILLIPSON FLY ROD 64 R 3/8 oz Lightweight 2 piece rod-wood color- this may be fiberglass as it has small flecks in it& no long grain but very flexible From what I have read looks like one of the original models the late owner was an avid fisherman& would be over 100 if alive today- this hasn't been used for 15 yrs or more All the fittings up the rod seem to be well wrapped. Tight and in vg condition- there is some minor light chipping to varnish in a few small places- no biggy The visible cork handle appears to be vg- the top screw to the reel seat has some play& looks darker. There is no rod weight designation but a 5 weight floating fly line works well. Cork handle. Rod weight is 2 5/8 oz. Serial# 13549. Comes with a copy of the original paperwork hand written by Russ Peak with all of the specifications of this rod. Rod also comes with original rod tube and original rod sock. This fly rod is in great condition. The cork is slightly scrubbed from use. The guides are all in great shape with no problems. The rod itself has a few very minor and light scratches. Vintage E C Powell Split Bamboo B 9 Fly Rod MINT cond. circa 1945 w/ 3 Tips Case
AT AUCTION. NO RESERVE: This is a one-of-a-kind E. C. Powell hand-built split bamboo fly rod in almost-new condition. This would be the crown jewel in any collection. First, the basic description, according to the owner: This fly rod was built around 1945 by E. C. Powell for my great uncle, Joe McMullen, who fished with Mr. Powell. I can guarantee that it was built by Mr. Powell himself. As a kid, I fished with"Uncle Joe" and E. C. Powell's son, Clyde Powell, at the Sizemore Ranch near Meeker, Colorado. Uncle Joe left this rod to me, and it's been put away since then. The rod itself is a model B-9, 9 1/2 footer and would have been used primarily for steelhead, Patent Number 9132986. The kit is complete and includes three tips-another distinguishing feature of this particular rod-and the original cloth bag, and the original ... morealuminum case. I have been in contact with the E. C. Powell Fly Fishers Club regarding this particular rod, and my asking price is based on research and correspondence with the Club. Two of the tips are 47 1/2 inches long; the third is 57 1/2 inches long. The two 47 1/2 inch tips are of two different thicknesses. Engraved in the bottom of the reel seat is 4 1/2. Perhaps the line weight used by Mr. McMullen. A rod like this does not come up for sale very often. In any condition. This rod is pristine. There are no nicks or marks on the reel seat, the cork handle looks new, the wraps are all tight and solid, the varnish is clear and smooth, and all the parts you could ask for are there. Here is a old vintage steel fly fishing rod. Marked"Bristol" on the reel seat. There are 4 sections total and 3 of the sections extend out and self-store in each other. Lenght when closed is about 40 inches. The overall extended length is about 107 inchs(almost 9 feet) All 4 of the line guides are good(maybe some minor bends) The base section is 6 sided(hexagon) The cork on the handle is damaged quite a bit. The metal handle butt cap is present. Both reel seat clamps are good. I see no other damage or repairs. I took several photos so you judge the cosmetic condition from the photos. This is a nice vintage bamboo fly rod by Kingfisher. It is a 9ft rod 3-piece with an additional tip section. The rod is all original, in good condition with no missing parts and is very straight. The original Kingfisher label is in good condition depicting the Kingfisher bird. This came from an estate and I really don't know any other details. I do believe it is a very good price as I am not a collector.

Lot of 7 Okuma High Performance Nomad soft sided fly fishing rod cases. Approximate dimensions are 32" long by 4.5" wide by 3" tall. These are all from a lot of returned merchandise from Bass Pro Shops. So I am pretty sure that they are not brand new. However, they show very little wear and I tested the zippers and all work smoothly. I believe that these were part of a package sold with a rod and when the rod broke, the customer returned the rod and the case. Just my best guess. Vintage Bamboo Fly Rod - Nickle Silver Hardware, Agate tip tops
Decided to let go of another rod. It is a vintage rod with no makers marking other than the signature wrap. Have been told that it could be an early high end Montague from the 1920s. But that's just an opinion. I haven't fished this rod or cast it so don't know the line weight, but would guess it to be a 4 or 5wt. I have the original bag and tube, but the tube is missing the cap. I'm pretty sure the finish has been redone by a previous owner. It's a three piece 9 1/2' all the sections are full length. Bamboo has the mottled flamed appearance. The two tips are wrapped differently photo 11 shows it best. one tip has a wider wrap of green& red which I assume one is for wet fly and the other is for dry fly. The different wrapping lets you know which tip your using. The tube has Edwards written on it maybe a previous ... moreowner. This is for a vintage Bamboo fly rod. The rod is 4 pc I think it is 2 ends and the middle and handle. i dont know anything about rods but this one looks very nice and well made. I can not find a name anywhere on this rod. Maybe the red handle will give it away to someone but I dont know. There is 2 problems with the rod. The first is the one end that connects the rod is detached(See Pic) and the other is the one tip on the one end is missing. The finish on the rod is very shiny and nice. Vintage Fly Rod Lure Wood Mouse

In the shape of a MOUSE, measuring about 1" in length, carved out of a floating grained piece of wood with ears, a tail, eyes and a very small treble hook in absolute lifelike proportions. The tail, made out of some hide material is about 1 3/8" long and is in black. The black eyes are recessed. I have fished a"kissing cousin" of this marvelously carved fly rod lure of a mouse in a down stream dead drift. I have actually seen a salmon come up to it from down stream and just lie there kind of lookin' at it. As I twitched the fly rod lure.
