Tom Moran is arguably the greatest cane rod maker working today and this one La Contessa is one of his finest. At 7'3" it marries well with a 4/5 wt. line. The rings are manganese bronze and the reel ring and butt cap are'blued' german silver. There are two tops and the rod is a golden chestnut colour with the reel seat in the classic tiger stripe pattern. The Contessa has transparent silk bindings with a single strand of scarlet silk woven in-a Tom Moran signature touch. The rod comes with an interior cloth sleeve and a custom made saddle leather stitched rod case with a protective metal core and brass stud closures. vintage kingfisher 3 piece bamboo fly rod. 88 inches in length, cork grip, reel seat looks good, rod looks good i didnt find any splits or cracks, 1 guide is missing on first section, rod flex's smoothly does need a cleaning i would do it but im sure there is a proper way of doing it so ill leave that to the new owner, label is missing birds tail. im not an expert on bamboo fly rods but in looking this one over i would say it is in nice condition doesnt look or feel brittle and bends with ease other than a little cosmetic tlc id say it would make you a fine rod, if you need any other information ill be glad to help.

I am selling my Orvis Superfine Touch rod and Orvis CFO 1 reel. The rod has been used no more than three times and is in like new condition. It is the full flex and comes with the Orvis tube and sock as seen in the picture. The sock has a tag for your name and information and it is not written on. All stickers are intact on the rod case and it is in great condition. The reel is also in like new condition with no nicks or scratches of any kind. It is lined with backing and a weight forward#3 floating line. This is as close to factory new as you can get at a much better price. This is a ready to fish setup. Just add your leader and you are good to go.

This is a Eagle Claw"Trailmaster" fly rod/ spinning rod combination. Put out by the Wright Mcgill CO. Denver Colorado. This is a six piece rod, when all together it measures 6' 9" 206cm) The rod looks like it was used very little, it has a couple tiny nicks on the metal of the base portion of the rod, the handle. There is a soft cloth pouch with a partition for the different pieces. And a nice aluminum case with a water tight screw on cap. The aluminum case measures 15" end to end and is 2 3/4" in diameter. This is a nice set and as the name implies it would be great for packing in, it can be attached to a back pack or with a thong around your shoulder, the thong, or string is missing, but easily replaced. This auction is for a Vintage Heddon Bamboo Fly Rod#10 with a Mark IV Reel. The rod is in good shape. With a little varnish wear and cracking(see pictures) and a few light scratches. The reel has some tarnish and wear but looks good. I am not sure what the weight is for this rod, but I am assuming light to medium weight. It's a great collector's item or great for fishing! Wow what a beautiful little set up. I got this day dreaming of trips up to some mountain creeks near my home. But I got laid off and its time to start selling my day dreams. I never even fished this beauty. I took some casting lessons from a friend in his yard, and practiced in my own yard a dozen times or so, but nothings ever gotten wet. Here's this quite rare Leonard rod, identified as most likely being made circa 1910-20 for export to the English market. I found info proving that Farlow's imported Leonards at that time. As we know, since E.G.M. Skues had introduced them, they had quite a following in the UK. Hence the tips an inch shorter, as seen on the vast majority of British cane rods, and the bridged agate lined tip tops. To be noted and certainly good evidence that the tips are not short and repaired is the fact that butt and mid sections are ½ inch longer than they would be for a 9 ½ foot rod(38 ½ inches instead of 38) And so the rod is exactly the correct length when assembled: f ull 9 ½‘ length(114” A hole in the butt cap w ould ... moresuggest a bank spike. Also common on the old English rods, was provided at the time. I bought it from a chap in Germany, a while back. Everything about it looks entirely original to me. Not restored or repaired. At the most, a maintenance coat of varnish might have been applied to one tip. ROD MARKINGS: The rod markings are faded and somewhat hard to read. The decal reads: Martin"Fly Wate" Other markings are faded and hard to read. We can see the 6-1/2 on the decal although faded. The exact age is unknown but known to be vintage. FLY WATE" ROD CONDITION: The rod comes in(6) sections and would make a great pack-in rod. The parts measured from the grip to the tip are as follows: Handle/Grip section: 14-1/2" Section 1: 14-1/2" Section 2: 14" Section 3: 14-1/4" Section 4: 13-1/2" TIP Section: 14" Total length 6-1/2 ft. The rod has Dark Brown THREAD WRAPS decorated with gold foil. ALL wraps. Guides and the tip are secure! No loose threads or wraps found. ALL ferrules fit tight and'pop' when pulled apart. Here is a Vintage Phillipson"Pacemak er" Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a 3 piece 1 to p and has a total length of 9 feet. The section s are equal with the sections pretty st ra ight and the tip having alittle fishing experience. The tip section has differe nt color windings than the other 2 sections. This is how I got the rod. The ferrules match on all sections. Beautiful cane color and smooth. The mid section is missing 1 guide with all the rest present and secure. The ink writing is clearly visible and p erfect with no scratches. There is also a"c7" on the opposite si de. This may refer to the line weight? The guides. Wraps. Cork and reelseat are all in good s hape. The ferrules are Nickel Silver. The rod comes with a Her ter's rod sock that is in great shape and ful l label. Here is a vintage Winchester model 5090 telescoping metal fly rod. It is in great condition. All the eyelets are original and tight as is the tip. The cork is in very good condition with no large gouges or missing pieces.There are some light scrapes in the cork here and there but nothing major. The rod pieces slide in and out firmly and close the same. The very tip section either has lost all of its original paint or it never had any. The rod closed is 40" It opens up to 9 feet.It is stamped on the brass part of the handle the following: WINCHESTER(over) TRADEMARK- over) MADE IN USA(over) 5090. Vintage 1910 FE Thomas, Bangor, Me. Dirigo Bamboo Trout Fly Rod, Two tips, 9 1/2
Search This is a vintage Thomas fly rod. Made in bangor maine. This rod has two tips, each with a different style end on it, Im guessing its a wet fly and dry fly tip but not sure. All four pieces are straight and true with no bends. One tip is about 5/16 of an inch shorter than the other but one of the metal tips is 3/16 of an inch longer than the other, being a different style, so that accounts for part of the difference in length-the tips appear to have never been broken or repaired. Butt section is 38 8/16 long, center section is 38 8/16 long, one tip is 38 7/16 and the other is 38 2/16 long. The rod appears to be complete and is marked Dirigo FE Thomas Bangor Me on the reel seat. Reel seat appears to be nickle plated and has what I think is called a rolled soldered slide bar. I did some research but correct me if Im mistaken about names/details ... moreof this item. I was told and believe that the finish on the rod is the original varnish. The butt section and center section need to have the line guides rewrapped as they have been attached in a very sloppy manner, as shown in the pics. The two tips look to be in great shape however with all the guides securely attached. The rod measures 114 1/2 inches( 9 1/2 feet) when assembled but I did not really"jam" the sections together for fear of not being able to get them apart again. I believe the cork grip is referred to as sheet wrapped. Two tips come in a round bamboo storage case with a screw on cap. Bamboo case fits into the original canvas rod sack along with the butt and center sections. Canvas case is marked with the name LAWRENCE, I assume the original owner but dont know. This is a great rod but does need some repair work. I am not an expert on fly rods and got most of the info off the internet so please ask questions if you have any. History: This rod was given to me by my grandpa. He was a big vintage fly rod and reel collector and passed away. I never really got into fly fishing. So this beautiful rod has been sitting quietly in a closet not getting used. All the information I have on this rod is mostly what I was able to find online. If you know more about this rod than I do please feel free to send me any info on it. Sewell N. Dunton& Son. Inc. is not the best known rod maker, but their work commands fairly high dollar amounts among historic fishing gear collectors. The genealogy of Sewell N. Dunton& Sons Inc. were with L.L. and Eugene Bartlett of Pelham. Massachusetts in 1857. L.L. left his brother's business in 1882 and in 1885 formed the Montague City Rod Company. They bought out several other rod making plants including Chubb and Malleson Rod and Reel ... moreand then had 4 plants in operation making rods by the 1930's. This became Montague Rod and Reel owned by Bruce Pirnie who bought out the original owners' heirs. Montague went through several ownership changes until 1955 when they went out of business and sold all their stock and machinery to Sewell N. Dunton. Dunton continued to use the mills from the original Montague Mills until 1974. When he sold the equipment to Thomas Dorsey and Thomas Maxwell, who formed Thomas and Thomas. South Bend#24 Bamboo Fly Rod 8' 6" Trout Action Bag& Tube South Bend#24. 8' 6" Line Recommended D-HDH(6) wt. Made in the USA. Sections are straight, Butt 34 5/8" Mid& Tips 34 3/4" and have a very minor fishing set when assembled. All wraps, ferrules, guides, reel seat and cork there and in good condition. Has its rod bag and tube(cap on tube has a dent and wont come off, so both cap and threads slide off tube) also in good condition. Here's a very nice South Bend Bamboo Fly Rod. This rod has seen very little use. I cleaned and polished it, its almost like new see pictures. It has whats left of the original price tag on the cork handle, I'll let the new owner remove it or leave it, see pictures. Every model#24 I've seen have been Bass Rod's HCH(7) wt. this is a HDH(6) wt. and for sure a trout-light ... morebass action. I have not fished this rod but have lawn cast it, it casts a HDH(6) as well as any I've cast and lays a line really well. Someone wanting to try a bamboo rod this would be a good one, I don't think it should sell for a fortune and its a solid fisher. There is something about catching fish on sticks, once you try it its hard to go back! Fished or collected it will not disappoint! The rod is marked(painted) with the word Siletz on one of the flats. The rod is 9 foot. Three piece with an extra tip. The rod is in good condition, and all sections are full length. Bag has holes and showing age. Aluminum Fly Rod Tube has some dents, still functional.

Restored Split Bamboo Fly Rod 3/1-8' 6"- 5 wt
This is a newly restored split bamboo fly rod in three piece with single tip eight and a half foot long in five weight. We don't know the original maker but by the ferrules its was high end. The ferrules are all nickle silver and pop nicely the cane is lightly flammed. We replaced the cork and reelseat with a nickle silver twin ring on a maple wood insert and a full well cork grip in"A" grade.We used blued line guides and tip top the stripper is chrome and the hookeeper is silver ring type. The cane is finished with three coats of spar varnish and is wrapped in brown silk. We lawn cast the rod and suggest five weight DT line the action is medium fast.

Has its rod bag and custom tube also in good condition. Here's a very nice Montague Bamboo Fly Rod. This is a high end rod just under the Red Wing. Rod has bright nickle silver ferrules, agate stripper and wood insert reel seat in very good condition see pictures. Decal on rod has a small peice missing, see pictures. Rod has been fully restored and came out beautiful, its ready to fish! Conolon Missilite Titlist 9100 Fly Rod This is a near mint to mint two piece fly rod that has an anodized aluminum reel seat a length of 8' Circa 1950. These rods were a revolutionary concept utilizing an unusual rod material called Missilite. Missilite was a lightweight material developed for World War 11 aircraft. New" Different" Exclusive: were words to describe these new Conolon fishing rods. These rods were manufactured in Costa Mesa. Ca. during the 1950's by the National Rod Manufacturing Company(NARCO) No serious collector will want to pass up on this rod. As they are extremely RARE. Unfortunately I do not have original sock and tube. But will ship in with replacement sock and aluminum tube.

Vintage Phillipson Master-Kast MK80 fly-matic fly rod
Vintage 2 piece Phillipson Master-Kast MK80 Fly-Matic line size HDH fly rod. Just above the lettering the thread is loose and some is missing, also some thread missing just below the ferrule on the first section, has a 6 1/2" cork handle(a little bit of the top section of the cork is worn and chipped) that has a lever built into the top part and has a metal type hook keeper on the bottom part and when you push up on the lever it releases a small amount of the lower hook holder and when you push it down it tightens up the hook keeper to keep the fly or hook in place(works really well) aluminum reel seat with top screw down piece and just below that a ring to put the top half of the fly reel foot piece on,good,solid metal ferrules, top section is about 1 1/2" shorter than the bottom section(may have been broken and another tip put ... moreon unless that's original) also on the top section it looks as though the first,third and fourth guides have been re-wrapped as there is a different type of thread on those guides, generally speaking rod is in very good shape other than the forementioned. Echo Solo Fly Fishing Rod + Reel + Line 9' 4wt Combo
This reliable rig was purchased a little over a year ago for both personal and guide use. I no longer need it and although used. Is not abused. No major wear. We're talking both rod and reel as well as a Cortland precision WF#4 Floating line(one of my favorite lines) I am leaving the factory loop on however I'd suggest a fresh nailknot+butt section be added. The reel is the 4/5 model. The rod comes with the tube and sock. It's ready to fish! No need to spend tons of money on fly fishing. I'd call it a solid and quality all-around trout/panfish etc. rig and by a reputable company. The action is not super fast but certainly not slow. Great for dries actually. You will note the close-ups showing some spots of wear. These are the worst you will find and most of the rig is clean. The rod is in very good condition.
