I have since purchased the ultralight model. I can tell you that this rod is super senstive and powerful, so it makes a 4" panfish feel great and also has enough backbone to land some sizeable largemouth bass. Rod sock and case included. Rod is in great condition- there are some minor scratches on the butt section male ferrule and about halfway up the blank. I sent photos to G Loomis and their repair department said that these are strictly cosmetic and do not hinder the rod's durability or performance. G Loomis Venture 7 fly reel used but never used(never even attached to rod) loaded with 200 yds backing and Scientific Anglers shooting head fly line. I purchased this reel new and later had the fly line installed at fly shop. I am not totally sure the line weight the seven. It is a shooting head line with 4 different"head" lengths of line. Installed on the reel is the WFF head. Included in S/A wallet are; moderate sink(2.5-4.0 i.p.s. Fast sink(4.0-7.5 i.p.s. and slow sink(1.3-2.0i.p.s. I had initially bought this reel for river bass and steelhead fishing, but have never used it. There are absolutely no scratches or marks on the reel and the fly line has never touched the water. G Loomis 2 mbr 843c imx and a mbr 844c imx great for worms crankbaits jigs
I have 3 nice used G. Loomis MBR imx rods 2 are the 843c 7' medium heavy fast action 10-17lb 1/4-3/4oz and 1 844c 7' heavy fast action 12-20lb 1/4-1oz. The corks have a little staining but are in good condition. the clear coats around some of the eyes shows cracking which is typical of these rods but all eyes are snug. One of the 843s has had the top eye replaced rod was not broken insert came out of original eye and new eye was put on. great rods for t rigs. G Loomis Crosscurrent GLX 9 foot 6 weight 4 piece
The GLX Crosscurrent series from G Loomis may be the finest rod technology available today. This super light and fast 9 foot 6 weight 4 piece easily manages small and medium sized Bonefish flies and handles fairly large fish. I put this to the test on Long Island in the Bahamas. Ford Flat produced three fish on the chunky side of 8 lbs during a week of January cold fronts that created sustained winds to 45 mph. The single benefit of that wind was the two foot chop allowing close in shots. The butt section and the mid on this rod are stout! The tip loosens up just enough to pick up short and feel the energy load. The rod shows some wear on the ferrules and the cork. But not too bad as you can see. The rod tube got crushed last year in Belize from an overweighted gear bag.I need my Marie Sharps! Although it has a foot long fracture, it still ... moreworks fine and the 50 lbs of premium hot sauce.made it home safely. Stay thirsty my friends.
