I bought this rod a year ago for $260. This is a pro series model that is signed by Gerald Beck. I have used this rod twice. It has some non noticeable smudge marks on it. But that is normal wear from taking it in and out of the boat. I love the dark cork handle too. This is an amazing rod and for a very cheap price. It doesn’t look like it has ever been used in salt water or if it has, you can’t tell it. It was custom made from a prominent rod builder in Santa Cruz, CA and has seven excellent guides and wraps. The finish is great with just a little bit of white specking on the butt section(you will hardly notice) and, as you can see, the original owner did not wish to keep his name on the rod, so the finish has been removed to remove his name(see pictures) This is only cosmetic of course and does not affect the rod in any way. This particular version is model MC 66XHC, a single-section rod with 20-80 lb. line weight and measures 6'6" length. It is pre-owned and we are not the original owners of it, so we do not know its history. It looks to be in very good cosmetic condition, the lower handle still has plastic wrap around part of it and the rod looks very clean. although there are a few scuffs and scratches here and there and there are the typical imperfections to the fiberglass. Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and Riffle? project rod
This auction includes one Lamiglas fiberglass fly rod blank and one project rod. The Lamiglas is the 6'6" 3 wt version. I installed a Hopkins/Holloway tip top on it. The project rod is a 5'6" fiberglass blank with spigot ferrules. My best guess is that this is an older Riffle blank. But I can't verify that. I can't even verify that it is a fly blank, but it is a medium to medium fast action blank that feels suited to a 4 or 5 weight line. I installed a short cork grip(4 1/4" and reel seat with blued nickle silver fittings and a black tip top. The ferrule fit will need to be adjusted because the male end is slightly undersized at the very end and it doesn't fit perfectly.
