You are viewing a beautiful Collection of VTG Mitchell Spinning Reels. Models are rare and difficult to find. And include: Mitchell Spinnete. 300, 302, 320, and 324. This is a fantastic collection of very tough to find reels from France. Yes. They are aged but well engineered pieces and all very fish-able reels. I have noticed that the Spinnette(upper right corner) is found in many Museums around the world. And seems to date back to around 1954. The 302 is a nice(larger) surf reel and the 300 of course is the workhorse of the Mitchell line(in my opinion) The 324's and 320's are for lighter rod actions and also very nicely engineered. There is almost no finish wear. The only place I see is a tiny bit along the sharp edge of the heel(see pics) After cleaning. It will be near mint. The reel is marked Garcia Mitchell on the handle side& has a label saying'A Garcia Product. It says'Made in France' on the other side& has the serial#223590 on that side as well. Up for bids is a RARE VINTAGE MITCHELL 300 REEL- PRE 300 AND GARCIA! It has definitely been used and the foot has been filed to accommodate the early bamboo reel seats which were often too short to fit the new and upcoming Mitchell reels. Reel functions very nicely- smooth retrieve. Bail open/closes nice and anti-reverse perfect. Cosmetically the reel has some spotty paint loss and some pitting mainly on spool housing. Please view pics carefully and bid accordingly. I try to get varied views to enable true depiction of reel's condition. Reel is a 5th Version with SERIAL# 223651 on housing and dates it to either late1953 or an early 1954. A really nice older reel in decent shape for age of a classic reel. Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage Garcia Mitchell 300. 6th version spinning reel made in the early 60's. The foot of this reel bares serial number 3128565. The reel comes with an original case marked The Garcia Group. Mechanically, this reel functions flawlessly. Cosmetically, the reel is very nice for it's age and shows only minor paint wear as seen in the photos. The case to the reel does show some age and is marked on the edge with a previous owners name. Vintage'60-61 Garcia Mitchell 300 DL Up for auction is a used Garcia Mitchell 300 DL. These reels were made in very limited quantities. And are a nice collectors piece. This particular reel has been used, and has been displayed and polished so the gold plating is thin in some areas, the paint on the foot shows use, and spots on the rotor show use, body and side plate are in very nice shape. Mechanically, it works perfect! I had thought about picking up the Gold DL parts on Ebay. And making this reel what it once was, but I don't have the time anymore. Garcia Mitchell 300 Reel Version 6 Serial Number 5730646 1963 Extremely smooth and quiet gearing. Very good bail snap and anti-reverse. Bail finish condition is very good, has the earlier style trip lever ledge. The handle is the correct spring loaded type. Spools are correct for ptoduction period. Finish shows wear, some small amount of edge wear on the housing bottom and a few spots on the rotor. The rear foot tip shows a good bit of linish loss as seen in photo#3. VERY RARE MINT IN BOX EARLY 50s MITCHELL 300 (EXPERIMENTAL) SPINNING REEL
up for bids is a very rare old mitchell 300.Pre garcia spinning reel. this reel laid on my shelf for yrs. i decided to clean it up and relube it. when i took it apart i found it had a nylon transfer gear in it. i did a little research and found that mitchell put a few of these gears out in the early fifties. also it did not have the reinforced axle housing.i read an artical somewhere that mitchell floated a few of the full bails on the market in 1950 to get markets response. i believe it was 1952 before they got the patent for the full bail. this reel has the slick handle knob which it and the plastic transfer gear didn,t stay around very long. after determining this was an oddball i decided to restore it. the reel hadsome numbers on the backside of the housing but when i stripped the paint the numbers went with the paint. Thus no numbers ... moreon this reel.i get my info on these old mitchells from the mitchell reel museum and from wallace carneys book. in fact the third picture is a page from wallace's book explaining the plastic transfer gear. if you collect ole mitchells you need wallace carneys book. all the parts on this reel are original except for the new screws. New chrome plating and catalyst paint. had anything plated lalely? i,m not 100 percent sure this is the original box but i looks like the one in the manual in the 7th picture. do your research and ask any questions, questions don,t cost nuttun. thanks for looking
