Basically this is a 300 with a slightly higher gear ratio. 4.2:1 and a gasket between the body and side plate. There were many slightly different versions of 300A produced by Mitchell from 1977/78 right through the 80's& 90's Used but still i n excellen t good working order. Free. Silky s mooth and very quiet to wind. Good crisp bail return and the optional anti reverseis silent on this i one and locks as it should. The lettering on t he name plate is really good. Although the red line on the roto r is missing in place the information is all readable. The paint on the AR lever is rubbed but the reat of the black finish is generally very good. For your consideration is a lightly used Mitchell Garcia 300 spinning reel. I found this reel at an estate sale(along with a Mitchell 308. Which is listed now as well) and it appears to be in overall very good condition. It has been used, but obviously not much, it has minor scuffs and scratches to the paint. From researching the serial# it appears to have been made in France around 1968. I know very little about fishing reels(although I had this same model reel as a kid! so take a close look at the photos above. The bail spring seems strong, the clicker switch works good and the chrome is very clean. I'm sure it could use a thorough clean and lube for being 45 years old, but otherwise I think it could be used straight away. The handle end might be slightly bent because when it is reeled it feels a little out of round. Not sure if it's ... moremy imagination or not, but wanted to disclose that. This Vintage Mitchell Garcia 300 Spinning Reel has been gone over from top to tail and is in Excellent Working and Cosmetic condition. These Old reels are of the finest quality and are made of all Metal and they are repairable. Unlike the Plastic inferior stuff that you buy today. This Quality old reel is Made in France and has many years of good fishing left in it yet. It shows little signs of wear and everything works exactly as it should. If anything were ever to go wrong with it I can supply the buyer with the necessary parts to fix it. Or I will fix it for you at a very reasonable price. 3 VINTAGE Mitchell ITEMS - REEL 300 REEL 300A AND LARGE SPOOL AND CASE SALED
For sale today is a lot of Mitchell fishing items. I've been fishing a handful of times in my life and I really don't know too much about this item. What I do know is that they are green in color. The handles that are used to turn the reel appear to be in good working order. There is string on the reels. They turn very easily and I heard the clicking, there are also some buttons that I don't know about on both reels. There is some paint wear on the edges of the item. One is labeled 300 and the other is labeled 300A. The 300A also says"capacity test/ yards 7/350 8/275 12/210 capacite m 24/320 26/250 30/190 Ratio 4.2:1. There is also a Large Mitchell partially full spool and cover included. All the items are marked"France" I don't clean these vintage items anymore because when I was brand new at this I ruined ... morea very expensive piece trying to spiff it up. So.the dirt and dust is FREE. No charge at all.Condition is so often in the eyes of the beholder. I can believe that something is in terrible condition and you can think it's average. There is no model number anywhere on this reel. It is stamped with the serial number C73742 on one side. Inverted, and the bottom of the foot is stamped with"M" FROM RESEARCHING THE INTERNET. IT APPEARS THIS WAS A test or EXPERIMENT DURING CONVERSION FROM THE 3RD VERSION TO THE 4TH VERSION. From the Mitchell Reel Museum" online. Made in c1950 during the 3rd versions, it ... morewas sent out as a Pilot or test model to only a few choice distributors and not sold to the public. The reason was that during this time, Hardy held the full-bail patent. After a deal was made between Mitchell, Impecco and Hardy allowing full bails, production starting in c1952. Notice the picture taken from a book.Although this reel does not have the round crank knob. It does have the brass slide and plastic gear that didn't last long according to the book by Wallace Carney for Mitchell reel collectors. The inverted serial number is on the side as shown in book. Not all test models had the exact same variations, and the 4th version changed the serial numbers away from the side and away from starting with a letter. Offered here is an older Garcia Mitchell 300– actually. A model 350 which has a higher retrieve ratio of 5/1. It is a used veteran but remains in good clean working condition. There is edge wear on the spool housing and the bottom of the gear housing as shown. The bail(seems strong) Drag and anti-reverse all work fine and just as they should. The serial no. is 3244899. Vintage Late Mitchell 300 Fishing Reel the Black Toggle type with cross head cover screws. The last type of egg shaped 300 reels Mitchell produced: T he body has a little paint loss. The bottom of the body is good, although there is some loss on the cover edge, the spool holder is fairly good although the red and gold on the spool holder is worn in places. The bail arm chrome has some marks and wear. It works as it should. The anti reverse works as it should. The plastic handle is good. The arm is the plastic screw type. The spool fitted is a shallow spool. The gasket between the cover and the body is red. It is a good used and serviced 300 fishing reel. If you have any questions please ask.

It shows little signs of light wear for it`s age and there are plenty of good years of fishing left in this one. Mitchell 300,Vintage Spinning Reel & Extra Graphite Carbon Spool,Xcell Condition
You are bidding on a USED Vintage Mitchell 300 Open Face Spinning Reel& Extra Graphite Carbon Spool. I found this Reel and Spool in my husbands workshop wrapped up together in an old rag. Both the reel and spool are Very Clean and the reel seems to work Very Smoothly with no play in the reeling action. I am just assuming this extra spool goes with this reel because they were wrapped up together. But I don't know that for sure. You are buying them"as is" There is NO RUST or PITTING or anything else on the Finish, and all the lettering or graphics are 100% In my opinion I would consider this reel and spool to be in very good condition. Vintage lot of 3 Garcia Mitchell 300 and 1 411 & extra spools
This is for three Garcia Mitchell 300 and one 411 all are in perfect working order. One of the 300's and the 411 say made in France. One of the spools on a 300 is a little scuffed up but all the rest are in real nice shape. There are also two extra spools added to this lot. I don't know too much about them but feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. Thank you. Justin
