We have been in the bear outfitting business for almost 30 years. We are avid hunters ourselves and know what it takes to provide the best possible hunt to our customers.
Our bear hunts are fully guided. When bear hunting with us the price includes your accommodations with us in one of our new cottages or smaller units (depending on the size of your group), your license and tag, an active, pre-baited stand, tracking and retrieval, skinning and freezing.
Our above average success rate is the result of many years of experience. We have a very large leased bear hunting area in which we have exclusive non-resident hunting rights. Our bear management area is one of the largest and most productive areas in Ontario and has been well managed to maintain its quality.
Our hunts are designed for the serious hunter. These wild animals are intelligent with a keen sense of sight and smell. Reducing movement and eliminating human scent will definitely increase your odds of success.

One of the fastest growing sports, possibly due to the highest population of wolves in history. Our wolves range in colour from white to pure black, most being a variation of grey and average around 100 pounds.
Wolves are very cautious and will not second guess their EXCELLENT sense of smell. A good scent eliminator is a must. They also have an extremely good sense of hearing and sight, so keeping movement to a minimum is essential. We offer our wolf hunt from our Dryden location. Our wolf hunt runs from January 1 to March 15. We hunt baited sites from heated ground blinds. You are either taken to the blind in the morning and picked up at lunch time then returned until dark, or you can take yourself to and from your blind with your own snowmobile.
We have a great supply of bait and attract a lot of wolves with the average shot being about 80 yards. Wolves are not in a habit of making mistakes, so scent eliminator and quiet clothing are a must. After a successful hunt your trophy will be professionally caped and ready for taxidermy.

For Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Whitefish, Perch and Muskie. Perrault Lake has over 50 miles of shoreline and is directly connected to Cedar Lake that has an additional ... more67 miles of shoreline. Both lakes provide excellent fishing. We provide contour maps of both Perrault Lake and Cedar Lake that illustrate water depths, underwater structure and other helpful information. Dave will advise you of the current hot spots and will assist you with your choice of lures and rigging.
For those wanting more adventure, we offer day trips to our remote lake locations; we have an outstanding Muskie only lake where the average day is to catch 3 to 5 Muskies and have 10-15 follows. If you prefer we can also arrange for a daily fly-out to a remote wilderness lake where the Walleye, Northern Pike, and Smallmouth Bass fishing is some of the best in the world.
The fishing season begins in mid May. When the ice melts, the shallows are the warmest and the fishing action is fast and furious for all species. Most fish seek cooler water in mid July; you will have to adjust down for them. As fall approaches in late August, the surface water starts to cool down. Bass and Walleye concentrate and when you find them, it will provide some of the best fishing ever. Remember too that late August and September are trophy Muskie time. Fall is also when the Whitefish move into shallow water.
Fishing for the future...
We are located on one of the finest fishing lakes in Northwestern Ontario, making Manotak Lodge the ideal sportsman's vacation retreat. To keep our waters productive for years to come, we encourage the increasingly popular practice of "Catch and Release" of larger spawning fish. Conservation and regular fishing licenses are available to purchase at the lodge.
Quality Boats and Motors...
Are included in all Manotak Lodge package plans. We have 16 foot Lund boats, equipped with swivel seats with backrests, powered by 20h.p. Yamaha motors. Boat cushions, floating minnow buckets, anchors, paddles and landing nets are furnished at no cost. We also include gas for all our own boats in the package plans. Upgrade boats are available which consists of 18 ft. Lund & Alumarine Boats, equipped with 40h.p. & 50h.p. Yamaha Four Stroke engines, depth finders, aerated live wells, padded swivel seats and flat floors.
Our dock facility includes a unique boat storage ramp that makes it convenient to load and unload your boat, and keeps it high and dry while not in use. Our dock hand fills your boat with gas each morning and is there to provide you with live bait and assist in getting your fishing day off to a good start.
Our Guides...
Are men that know our lakes and know how to catch fish. Our guides have been guiding on Perrault and Cedar Lakes for over two decades. A high point of your day will be your shore lunch of freshly caught walleye, fried to perfection by your guide over an open fire
The Facilities...
Include a launch, fish cleaning (yes, we will clean your fish for you), fish wrapping, fish freezing and battery charging at no extra charge. Our sun deck, canoe and paddle boat are always available for you at lake shores edge. We carry fishing licenses, live minnows, and a wide selection of artificial lures in our tackle shop. We also have coin operated washers and dryers for your convenience. Sorry, but pets are not allowed.
Ruffed Grouse Hunting and Trophy Muskie Fishing...
Exist in the fall. A simple drive down a side road will produce a limit of Ruffed Grouse. After a morning of hunting Grouse, take the afternoon and fish for a trophy Muskie on Perrault Lake or on our remote Muskie only lake. You can also hunt for a wide variety of ducks and geese.
Bringing Your Own Boat/Motor
Should you decide to bring your own boat and motor instead of using the ones included with the package plan, the same price still applies; however, we will include up to 20 gallons of gas to be used in your boat only, while a guest at Manotak Lodge. We will also include free boat launching at our own boat ramp, docking and battery charging.

Manotak Lodge accepts responsibility for having all equipment in good running order when taken by guests. Guests, in turn, are responsible for the boats and equipment they are using and must exercise due operating care. No damage insurance is available from lodge. Boats and equipment assigned can be used during daylight hours only. Children under 18 cannot operate boat alone.
