We offer a complete seven day stay / 6 day Bear Hunt. Our package includes accommodations, personal guide, baiting by your guide, transportation to and from your stand provided and ... moreoptional meals during the hunt.
We here at Lost Lake take great pride in the success of your hunt. We take your hunt very seriously and your satisfaction in our services and your hunt is our main concern. We do our utmost to make sure you get your “Bear of a lifetime”. We cater to Bow Hunters as well as gun Hunters. Our newly constructed ladder stands offer an average of 20 – 25 yard shots. We limit the amount of hunters per week to six and we only run our Bear Hunt for 2 weeks. This ensures no over hunting and a healthy population of adult Black Bears for now and our future to come.

• Boat and motor with all gas and safety gear plus boats and motors on remote lakes.
• Fully baited active sites. Baiting is started daily 4 weeks in advance of your arrival.
• Newly constructed 20’ heavy wooden ladder stands – comfortable and very safe.
• Delivery and pick up to your bait site daily if required.
• All baiting is done by your personal guide that guides you to your stand daily.
• Tracking and retrieval of your Bear.
• Assistance with skinning, processing and freezing

Following our instructions will help make this an exciting and successful Fall hunt.
We begin scouting mid summer, always following the moose in their routines.
With the information we gather, we choose and suggest the best locations
to increase your success.
You’ll be hunting in the rut, a very vulnerable time for bulls while they are on the move seeking out cows. Calling is your best strategy to get these bulls in close for an
accurate shot. If you’d prefer a Guide to put you in the middle of active areas and call Bulls to you, a Guide is available for the week or by the day.
Because of the amount of meat that comes from one of these animals, most people
choose to hunt in a group. Hunting in a group will also increase your chances of success, so we have priced our packages geared toward a group of 4 hunters.

Many miles of old and new logging roads wind there way throughout our area, making it one of the best grouse hunting areas anywhere. Our forest consisting of Aspen, Spruce and Birch, ... moreis a prime natural habitat for grouse, producing our large population. Ruffed and Spruce Grouse are abundant throughout our area, so there is no need for you to hunt the same area as someone else. An ATV can get you deep into the forest quicker but they are not necessary as you can also use a truck to take you to your hunting area.
Upon arrival, getting settled in, we will suggest the best hunting area for you.
The best time of day to hunt is early morning and just before dusk -
leaving plenty of time to wet a line and enjoy some great fall fishing too

The two bedroom cottages have either a double bed or ... moretwo twin beds in each room. The lodge has 4 bedrooms all with two twin beds in each. Bed linens, towels, toilet paper, dishes, toaster, coffee maker and filters, pots, pans, dish soap, salt and pepper are all supplied. All cottages have large attached decks so you can sit out and relax. They are also equipped with their own microwave, propane barbecues and lawn chairs. Free wireless internet is in every cottage.
You can choose between our standard cottage or pamper yourself in a deluxe unit. The deluxe units come with Satellite T.V. , modern decor living with large patio doors opening onto wrap around decks. All the units are supplied with hot and cold “good” drinking water.

We modified our baiting practices a little in 2012 which resulted in our most succesful bear season yet. Although our Black bear hunt has always been succesful there are always lessons ... morelearned to give our hunters the best opportunity possible to have the chance to harvest their bear. This year we had 13 hunters here at Gowganda Lake Lodge and 12 of them were able to shoot a bear.
