This is a Penn International Tuna Stick model 2920 ALS. It is used and measures 6 ft in length. 12-20 LB test, AFTCO low profile guides all the way up and AFTCO roller tip, AFTCO aluminum reel seat, slick butt, and gimbal. This rod is used and I am selling because I think the reel seat unglued itself from the actual rod blank. When I am reeling in a fish, the rod and guides slide to the left or right. Then I have to hold the reel and twist the foam foregrip to line up the rod again with the reel. It's not too bad, but with a fish on, it will slide to either side. Reel History of a Beautiful Penn! It was in the late 60’s that I bought the Penn International 8-0 reel and it was almost on a whim. Those were the days. The good ol’ days when my business interests thrived with almost no attention. The trappings of success were abundant: a black-as-sin Lincoln Mark III everyday car, and a Ferrari for the weekend; an 18K Rolex GMT Master for work and a gold Cartier tank watch for more formal affairs; a little Harley for scrambles in the woods and a Royal Enfield for quick road trips. Passions and hobbies and pastimes included karate training, poker sessions, live music, bows and arrows, guns and knives, and a blonde girl friend who stopped time and traffic, all paid for… but the blonde, of course. Air travel was an easy thing then. And frequent. Friends told me I’d cotton to salt water sport fishing, and ... morethat a key to off-shore angling was having my own gear so I bought the best. The International series was new then and the 8-ought was the top of the top of the line. It was about $100.00 an ought– you know what that is, or you don’t. Then there were peripherals, back braces and butt holders, and the hooks, lines and sinkers that defined the gentleman-fisherman-adventurer. That gold reel spoke more of a man carrying it than the depth of his tan. I’d never been much on how things work, but I’d learned that if you buy the best it’ll serve you well and that’s why I stepped up to that particular Penn International. I fished it hard, and it was well-used but never abused. Papa” would have had one like it if they’d been made in his day. This 8-0 has history. It was fished from Naples and around the Keys and up through Daytona and into coastal Georgia waters. It brought in tiny tuna off Palancar Reef in Mexico. A ragged sailfish near the dock at the Cozumel Caribe Hotel, and wahoo and barracuda around Ocho Rios. But Bimini was where it came into its own with a Marlin, and then on Captain Bill Francis’ the“Bimini Bill” it started trolling for sharks and never got over the thrill

PENN INTERNATIONAL 2 AND G-LOOMIS SALTWATER FISHING POLE
This is a good as new set up in good condition no defects at all. The rod is a G-LOOMIS carbon fiber wrapped pole with 7 eyes that all have ball berring rollers, was built for shark fishing in Alaska but only used a couple of times and is as good as new. The reel is a Penn international 2 speed reel super nice only used a couple of times. Up for auction is an original gold anodized PENN INTERNATIONAL 2.5 fly reel. I purchased this reel years ago and back then it was advertised to have never been fished. Nor even have a line ever spooled on it. My opinion is that it is MINT. It has sat in a drawer in its case as long as I have owned it, and only taken out occasionally to admire it. It deserves to be fished hard like it was designed and built to do. It is getting very difficult to find these in any condition, let alone one in this condition. What you see is what you get, fly reel in pouch. Reel is currently set up for right hand retrieve. Drag is almost impractically strong and reel has ALWAYS been stored with drag setting to minimum. Reel is exceptionally smooth. Reel foot does not even show signs of being attached to a rod! I tried to take pictures of this. hi i have a penn international 1290 3 spt graphite 9ft#12 saltwater fly rod for use in rough conditions.For sale,in good to very good condition.the rings and whipping are all original,with the exception of the tip ring which i believe has been replaced,all of which are in vgc,the blank is superb and the 3 sections all fit tight,with no sags.the butt end is also sound,there are some paint scratches on the reel seat where the the reel is fitted and a small amount of cork,around the reel seat,has been repaired,this is where the top end of the reel enters into the seat,see photos,also has original hard cloth tube,ive tried to describe as accurate as possible,just very minor points and in no way distract from the quality of this rod,im starting this 7 day auction at £80.00 with free p p please note p p is for uk mainland and northern ireland ... moreonly if outside please ask for quote so that i can quote you correct postage cheers keith
