Vintage Lot-Fishing Poles- Mohawk Silver King ,Penn 60 Reel and Antique Pole
This is a lot of 2 Vintage poles and a reel Mohawk Silver King 3442 84" 7ft) long Unkown Antique pole 6 Ft long. broken tip) and A Penn Star Drag 60 reel These were a basement find in my grandfathers house. I dont know much about them other than they are old. Vintage poles. It was hard to get pictures of these because of the length. The first pole is a Mohawk Silver King model 3442 Horrocks-IBBoston Co. Utica NY. I dont see any cracks or splits in the wood. As you can see from the pictures there is a cork grip and the handle is hardwood. The pole guides are chrome plated stainless steel. The printing on the pole is in excellent condition with little signs of wear. It measures 7 ft from end to end. It does come apart into two pieces. I would rate this as in excellent condition for its age but I am no expert on Fishing poles so please ... moreask any questions you may have. The second pole has no markings on it that I can find. It is hardwood with only one guide on it. That is one on each side of the pole at the same point. The tip of this pole is broken off. Again, I believe it comes apart but I am not messing with it. I am also including a Penn Long Beach 60. Metal spool, star drag, Torpedo handle, gear ratio 2 1/2 to 1, approx cap. 250 d 36lb nylon, 250 yd Dacron. There is fishing line on the reel that I think is Nylon. It is in its original box but it has been used. The metal has some signs of corrosion on the inside part of the reel. It might clean off but I am not touching these things, I will leave this to you! In the box is a used tube of lube and a little wrench as well. I have shown that in the pictures.The box read Penn Long Beach 60 Penn fishing tackle MFG co, Philidelphia 32 PA. Has finish wear and weathering on the chrome parts and a name etched on outer tail plate ring but reel is solid and works well. Chrome finish wear to the crank. Star, rings, sea t. And posts bu t the are all still solid and competent. Spool has wear and weathering but does indeed sit quite nice and spins great. Plates have surface finish wear but solid good shape. Reel comes with rod mount. Finish wear as seen in the photos but a solid well working piece. The super-sized and zoom-able photos show the reel quite well. I purchased this reel from a collector and had it serviced by the pros at Penn's Factory Service Dept. in Philadelphia. PA, USA. I filled reel and spare spool with 30 lb. test Greenspot traditional braided Dacron fishing line and both have been in storage ever since.
