Reel features maroon sideplates with chromed brass inside& outside rim guards, handle& star drag, and reel foot of course, with plates held apart by four(4) chromed brass pillars with wide open top for"thumbing" the spool of course. Also has the HD reel seat marked: 30-200" with twin square holes for the factory rod strap screws, plate, wing nuts(NOT included but easily obtained on-line) plus heavy duty, chromed spool, small parts, counter-balanced handle with green"swirl" plastic finger grip as well. This old school Squidder#140 Reel probably dates back into the 1960s era, and has already stood the test of time with flying colors.See Photos) Reel ... moremeasures about 5 3/4" across from left sideplate with chromed bearing cover& functioning"clicker" button across to the right sideplate on top of the chromed nut holding the handle& star drag on. UP FOR BID IS A VINTAGE PENN SENATOR 1/0 SALTWATER FISHING REEL. THIS CONVENTIONAL REEL FEATURES A 3:1 GEAR RATIO AND WILL HOLD 225 YDS OF 20 LB TEST MONOFILAMENT LINE. This reel has been cleaned and lubed. There is some corrosion and scratching that does not seem to diminish its functioning as a great light saltwater bottom and trolling reel. The click is loud, clutch flips, handle turns, star drag screws up and down, and has a good rod clamp which adds at least $5.00 that many sellers leave off. Penn Sea Hawk 1936 Reel Here is a nice Penn Seahawk casting reel. Circa 1936. This reel has a waffle clicker button. The handle pulls out for free spool. Foot is marked 250 yards, a new addition in 1936, according to an article by Michael Cacioppo in the July, 2012 edition of The Reel News, a publication of the Old Reel Collectors Assocation. This article also states that by 1936 side plate molding was done by Penn and the side plates will be mostly black, as this reel has. Also, the handle nut is scalloped, without the later locking screw. The reel shows use with light scratches on the side plates but no cracks or chips, and the chrome plated brass parts have some wear and pitting. Wooden knob is in great shape. This particular Senator is black in color and came with a stainless steel line guide and 2 ball bearings. This reel is in very good to excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. You are bidding on a very nice vintage Penn Surfmaster No. 155 conventional salt water fishing reel. Made in the USA Penn advertised these reels as“Universal Surf and Boat Reels” This particular Surfmaster is all black in color and came with a black anodized aluminum spool. The left side plate is new and has the scene of a man casting into the surf on it. This reel is in very good to excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition. It has a strong clicker. Smooth release free spool lever and the handle turns very smoothly. There is some minor pitting but nothing bad. It comes with its black torpedo handle. This is a very nice example of these well made. Sturdy reels. Vintage Penn 3/0 Special Senator Model 112 H reel in excellent condition. This is a fast and powerful reel designed for trolling or bottom fishing using all types of fishing line. Mechanically. This reel is in perfect condition and cosmetically the reel is in very good condition. Several years ago this reel was serviced by the pros at Penn's Factory Service Dept. in Philadelphia, PA. Reel was internally inspected, new drag washers were installed(Penn's Factory Service Team does this for every reel sent to them regardless of whether or not drag washers need replacement) properly lubricated, and returned to me. Fishing Up for consideration is a vintage Penn No. 155 Beachmaster conventional reel with it's original box. Tool and lube. This is an awesome reel that appears to have seen little to no use. Mechanically, the reel functions flawlessly. Cosmetically, there are no discernable flaws. The reel is free of corrosion and the plated components are clean with with only a few minor marks that could be attributed to handling. The black plastic side covers are a deep black and show only minor abrasions that, again, could be attributed to handling. This is a great old reel that is suitable for fishing or adding to a vintage tackle collection.
