welcome. Season 6 of Mad Men is TONIGHT! D.and so we're celebrating this week with a number of fun auctions for very mid-century modern. Rare, and fabulous curtains and drapes. A waterfall of sage green and cream white fern-like leafy fronds fill each panel. Pretty sure these are fiberglass. Which adds a lot of luster to the Pearly Bright White fabric. It has a very interesting texture, which we think was intended to mimic the nubbly texture of bark-cloth. It's very mildly nubbly with tiny slightly raised pearly shiny white bumps. It's very subtle but it's what catches the light in an almost metallic way. Being a button collector, it reminds me a bit of Mother of Pearl. Each of the 4 panels measure: Length- 62" Width[ bottom across the flare] 41" Width[ top across the pleats] 26" condition: EXCELLENT TIP TOP ... moreShape. These were well cared for and nicely stored. While they've been stored for decades. We find no storage staining. We are a smoke free home. On the backside of the drapes near the near the seam of the top hem there is a tear which is pictured in the 8th photo. It's small and is obviously not noticeable in any way on the front of the drape, but thought we should mention it nonetheless. Harker HAR77 Coupe Soup Bowl Sage Green Vintage Mid Century Modern 1955
This listing is for a coupe soup bowl made by Harker in the HAR 77 pattern. The bowl is 7 5/8" x 7" and is sage green on the inside and white along the rim and back- this would coordinate with several Harker patterns including Persian Key and Ivy Wreath. The bowl is in nice overall condition with no crazing. Cracks, or flea tick marks, or paint loss on the front- there are some slight utensil marks but nothing significant or even very visible, and there is one small chip along the rim approximately 1/4" which is seen in the last photo. The plate is marked"Harkerware U.S.A. on the back. This classic, mid-century modern design was discontinued in 1955. From what I could determine it is a minority contractor for mil itary apparel. The patches indicate th at the former ow ner was a member of 334th Fighter Squadron. 4th Fighter Wing and part of the Air Mobility Command, probably during or after the Gulf War. In other words I can't clearly date this jac ket. The size is medium and it is in very good condition. I don't see any worn spots. Rip s. Tears. Or other excuses, and the zippers work fine. For auction is an original Sage Mainframe Computer Board. It is dated from July 1955. So a very early board. Measures approximately 5 1/2" x 13 1/2" at its longest points so a very large board. THE SAGE(SEMI-AUTOMATIC GROUND ENVIRONMENT) COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS A CONTINENTAL AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM- BUILT DURING THE COLD WAR IT COST 8-12 BILLION DOLLARS TO GET OPERATIONAL. IT WAS STARTED IN 1954 THE SAGE COMPUTER WAS THE LARGEST COMPUTER SYSTEM EVER BUILT This board went to an AN/FST-2 Radar System Computer from the Sage system. Computer boards from this system rarely ever come up for sale. As most of the system was scrapped and trashed long long ago. The board was tested with or messed with at some point. As the wires and circuitry were pulled off some time long ago as shown in the photos. The tube connectors with their wiring are still ... morepresent though. This definitely shows wear from age with discoloration. Oxidation marks, wear, etc. as seen in the photos. This board is perfect for a collection or museum. With some amazing history that goes along with it. Lots of info about the sage system can be found online and is certainly worth reading. Though outside of the Computer History Museum in California it is very hard to come across any artifacts.
