This reel seat has a removable fighting butt. When butt is off there is a reel seat cap. This rod is also salt water safe. Handmade custom full wells style cork grip fits the rod and feels great in the hand. I use extra select cork to build my handles. I put this style grip in the hands of many people to ensure it would be a custom grip that feel good to everyone. I have built many Sage rods. In my opinion you cant beat the performance or the"feel" of a Sage. This rod is built to perfection. Beautiful theme and precision craftsmanship. I have taken my time while choosing the look for this rod as well as the build itself. This rod will last a lifetime, it might as well look amazing along the way. I bought this rod new 90s. For my wife she never got into it and it has seen little use,maybe 3 or 4 times on the water. There might be the slightest scuff here and there and the cork is slightly dirty but, all in all, in excellent+ condition. The DS models have soared in popularity since being discontinued. This is a really nice all around 9' 5wt rod. Comes with correct sock and tube. With Sage model 106M reel that was made in Redditch, England.

Fly rod was owned by one of our customers who wanted a new rod. The rod is in used condition from tip top to fighting butt. The blank has some minor marks on the ferrules. From assembly, on it but none that will effect the service of this rod. The rod does have the foregrip. The blank does have some surface marks, none serious.
