Simms G3 Guide Special Edition Stockingfoot waders, Medium Short, 9-11, PreOwned
Up for auction with no reserve is a pair of G3 Guide Special Edition Waders. Size Medium Short, with 9-11 Foot. The waders are previously owned and were my backup waders for 2 seasons and really weren't used much as you can tell from pictures. The waders show normal signs of wear as you would expect but have many days on the water left if you know anything about Simms waders. Made with Gore-tex Pro shell technology, these waders are a souped-up version of the popular G3's. The main features that make them different are the improved suspenders with ventilated padding for all-day comfort and D-loop on back for a landing net, only offered now on the pricey G4's. The wading belt is also a lot nicer than what comes standard on the G3's. The Simms camo on the handwarmer pocket and flip-out pouch is also a nice touch. I did replace ... morethe thin, flimsy cord that was attached to the zipper on the handwarmer pocket with a burly para cord as seen in the picture. This jacket I decided was a necessity just after the torrential rains of 2013 had ceased. I'm not if sure if this jacket has been wet to be honest. I've worn it less than a handful of times and shows no real signs of wear. And it's goretex so it's tough as nails. This is a size M Jacket which fits me great. I just want to upsize to layer up more for the temps in the teens. This jacket has been worn for literally hours and not days worth of time. Used once but passes for new condition. Simms Bottomless Pit Roller Bag. 85 liter version. This is a LARGE(33 x 18 x 11 inches)two-wheeled suitcase designed for the traveling angler. The bottom(where the wheels are) and long underside are stiff nylon or plastic for strength and rigidity; the upper part of the bag is made of a rugged, cordura-like fabric that allows some overstuffing. Fine quality, large brass/bronze surveyor's level, marked on the instrument"TROUGHTON& SIMMS LTD, LONDON" fitted in its mahogany case and then protected by an outer leather case. The maker's mark dates the instrument back to 1916-1922. The handsome level consists of a telescope. A compass, and a long bubble and a short bubble, together set on a two-parallel-plate mount with four leveling screws. There is a magnifier for reading the compass and a knob to lock the compass ring. The telescope has rack and pinion focusing. Cross wires and push-on lens cap/shade. It is about 15 1/4" long when closed and 17 1/2" when fully open. The instrument ... morehas been well kept and it is in excellent condition. The telescope rack& pinion is moving smoothly. The telescope delivers beautiful clear images. The large bubble is 8 1/2" long and the short one is 2 1/2" with marking lines directly cut on to the glass? All bubbles are intact. And the compass is working. The level stands approx. 7 1/2" tall. The level is fitted in its beautiful mahogany case with green felt trims. Brass hinges and catches. Apart from that, there is an outer thick leather case with carrying strap protecting the wooden case. The wooden case is in great condition, and amazingly the leather case is still usable. When box lid is closed, a protruding pin on compass casing locks needle in position for transport. Box measures: 6.75” long X ~1.7” wide X ~1.2 tall. Compass and box weigh ~11 ounces. Obtained in an“antique shop” in Cario Egypt about 12 years ago. Compass and box are in original condition; there has been no effort to alter compass or box. Appears to be seeking north when oriented.
