Antique 1875 Dunlap Fish Trap Hook. Terminal Tackle, Spring Loaded, Rare We are offering a very rare flat spring Dunlap fish trap patented June 1. 1875. The line tie is a small double brass ring inserted into a slot cut into the striking hook which sets the fish trap. Once the trap is set either an upward movement of the line or a downward of the bait hook, it would disengage the sliding bar which the line is tied from the striking hook which the flat spring now forces sending the striking hook into the top of the fish head. There are only a few earlier ones of this type of spring loaded fish hooks.The earliest spring loaded hook was patented July 28, 1846. This 134 year old hook that we are offering is very hard to find. It is in very fine condition with a good readable date. Please view all 12 pictures. 1- Plano 737 Tackle Box– approximately 21” Long x 12” Tall x 12” Deep- please note that the clear cover on the top of the box has blemishes on it– overall the box is very clean and all latches& doors work well– the spinnerbait racks do not match in color. It had no racks when I got the box so I made some new ones that actually hold more baits than the originals did. They are factory racks that I modified to fit this box. Again, this is a nice clean box that I think any fisherman will proud to own. 80 +- hardbaits– fair to excellent condition. The majority are in good to very good condition, quite a few like new. A good selection of small, medium, and large baits.
