There is soiling to the covers. The bottom corner and the top corner have foxing that looks like chew marks- I’m not going to speculate what! There is a stamp of the music company at the bottom. When, I do not know but most items in the collection of which this was one date to 1950s and 1960s. As can be seen at photos, the blue box has the name of the mills on one side and a fish out of water on the other. The compartments lead me to believe that it was to be used for fishing lures, hooks, etc. However, I do not think this one has been used. The photo showing the compartmented inside is the same for both sides. In other words both sides open. This is a obsolete American Shield for Mobile. Alabama. It measure approximately 3 inches in length and is numbered 120. This was. With the rest of my collection, traded with serving US Police officers over 15 years ago and all shields sold are obsolete and do not bear resemblance to the current issues shields. They are sold as collectors items and exhibits only. All have the original pins. This is about the oldest in my collection and there is some wearing to the chrome on the front where it was used for many years by a serving officer.

The Heirs of Hunt vs. the Heirs of Ellison. Et al. Argument for Appellees by Edmund Spann Dargan. Attorney Upon a Rehearing Mobile. Alabama: Farrow& Dennnett, no date but not too long after 1843; with 22 pages + original printed paper covers. Lots of references herein to an 1843 Alabama law which is spoken of as if it had gone into effect not long before this case came about. The case apparently had something to do with redeeming ... moreland after bankruptcy sale but the primary points made by attorney Dargan have to do with technicalities of what constitutes service of process and other documents and regarding who the actual parties of a case might be if papers have not been served to a single defendant and/or plaintiff. This case also involves people named REMSEN and JUDE. I have a few other briefs by Dargan of Mobile listed on ebay. Dargan was a member of the Alabama Senate in 1841. The United States House of Representatives from 1845 to 1847, and the Confederate Congress. He was chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court from 1849 to 1852. Rare. Probably no more than 25 copies of this brief were originally printed. Near fine. Really nice! NOTE: some of my scans may have what appear to be scratches and/or pencil scribbles but in actuality those are scratches on the glass bed of my scanner. THIS IS A VINTAGE LEW'S POLE'S CANE/ BAMBOO POLE 3 PIECES AND 14' LONG Lew Childre started out selling shrimp as bait to fishermen. And then that evolved into a small tackle shop. One day while pulling a bamboo pole out of the stack for a customer. Lew was disappointed with the inconsistency from one pole to the next. The moment of reflection triggered his insatiable thirst to build better fishing products than anyone else. Lew began experimenting with homegrown bamboo. Figuring out the best growths to cut and how to temper and finish the poles so they would keep their shape indefinitely. His were highly superior products. But the problem was his United States sources for bamboo were limited and the costs for his treating processes required each pole sell for one dollar instead of the going rate of a quarter.
