Authentic Choctaw. Oklahoma& Gulf Railroad Co stock certificate unissued with the date of issuance of November 1st, 1897. This is an original certificate, not a copy or reproduction. The vignette shows a steam engine locomotive with a coal and/or grain depot in the background. The certificates are hand signed by the company's President(some of the signature may not be visible if the punch cancellation marks are in the signature area) and are over 100 years old. The Choctaw. Oklahoma and Gulf Railroad( CO&G) Known informally as the"Choctaw Route, was an American railroad in the states of the Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The company, originally known as the Choctaw Coal and Railway Company, completed its main line between West Memphis, Arkansas and western Oklahoma by 1900. In 1901 the CO&G chartered a subsidiary company, the ... moreChoctaw, Oklahoma and Texas Railroad, to continue construction west into the Texas panhandle, and by 1902 the railroad had extended as far west as Amarillo. The CO&G came under the control of the Chicago. Rock Island and Pacific RR(the"Rock Island" in 1902, and was formally merged into the Rock Island on January 1, 1948. The Memphis-Amarillo route remained an important main line for the Rock Island, hosting local and transcontinental freight traffic as well as passenger trains such as the Choctaw Rocket. Substantial portions of the former Choctaw Route were abandoned after the Rock Island was dissolved in 1980. Other segments of the former CO&G, however, remain in use by the Union Pacific Railroad and various short lines. The former Choctaw Route passenger depot in Little Rock. Arkansas, is now a component of the William J. Clinton Presidential Center and Park, though the adjoining historic freight depot was razed as part of the Clinton Center's development. In the upper left corner it reads"Moments from the Gulf" Silver Collection" and"Sterling 92.5% The tag on the back is from Al Jaber Arts Gallery. The display in the very center of this item contains several colors of sand that move from side to side when tilted. It is in excellent condition but the storage case show signs of wear. I do not know how old this item is or the year of the coins, possibly mid to late 1990's. The storage case is 25 1/2 by 25 1/2 by 3 1/2 inches in size. This map was included in many editions of Blaeu atlases published subsequently by Blaeu's son and successor(1599-1673) and this example is a fine early impression with no text on verso. Blaeu based the cartography in part on a 1631 chart by by Dutch East India Company principal cartographer(1580-1632) as well as his own West Indische Paskaert of 1630 and added a rich array of decorative elements making it one ... moreof the most sought-after 17th century maps of the region. The map presents three fine compass roses with radiating rhumb lines. Five ships and three fine cartouches including a rather bizarre menagerie in the title cartouche. Wonderfully decorative and historically important, this well preserved example will make an elegant presentation if matted and framed. We begin our survey of the map with the title cartouche presented by twin putti with a host of new world critters- note hanging turtle"pendant. Map names both Florida and Virginia. And Gerritsz is believed to have consulted some Spanish sources for the coast of the Gulf of Mexico. The map is notable for being the first printed map accurately portraying the distance between Chesapeake Bay and Albermarle Sound: Iguanas. Constrictors, vampire bats! This is for 3(RARE) different notes straight from Iraq new and uncirculated. The first note is 25 dinars of Saddam in a Military uniform(around 1986) I was told that is the only Iraq dinar of Saddam in a uniform it has a hologram of him if you hold it up to a light. The second note is three Arabian horses(around 1978) printed by the Swiss Bank also if you hold it up you can see the hologram of a horses head. The last note was printed by the Iraq government during the Gulf War as emergency war notes(around 1990-91) and does not have the hologram or color quality as seen since in picture the Iraq government did not have the technology etc. to equal the Swiss governments printing ability. This lighter is in excellent condition. It has been used. I believe this was a sample lighter that was shown to perspective customers as it is marked"YOUR LOGO HERE. I don't think there are many of these out there. It has 4 dots to the left of Zippo on the bottom and four dots to the right of Zippo. Also on the bottom is Pat 257191 and on the right is Pat. Pend. The chimney of the lighter has some darker marks on it but is whole and complete.
