Vintage Marado 3 1/4" Gold Anodized salmon/trout fly reel NIB + pouch
You are bidding on a vintage gold anodized salmon/trout 3 1/4" fly reel made by the MERADO Mfg. Co. of Kent Washington. This reel, made of bar stock aluminum and gold anodized all over so that the reel can be used in salt water or fresh water. The reel is a Right Hand Wind, but can be set up for Left Hand Wind by reversing the spring gear as shown in the inside of the reel. It has the two screw drum release and a smooth foot. This reel is MINT- ~ that means that it never got wet. The spool width is 7/8" and is perforated with three rows of holes; the back has two rows of holes. It has a drag adjustment wheel on the reverse as shown on the third picture. The reel has a ball bearing drive system. The frame and spool is made from machined aluminum and then anodized in gold throughout(inside and outside) The spool has a counter ballanced ... moreweight, as shown on the first photograph. The crank handle is made from fine grained wood. The reel weighs 4.2 ounces and has a line capacity of DT7-8 or WF8-9. As noted. The wind can easily be changed from RHW to LHW. This is a spare spool for an older Hardy LRH Lightweight fly reel. Comes with its original box. In excellent shape, and packing tissue which is tattered. This spool has been fitted to my older 2-screw line guard era LRH and it fits perfectly. As a result, there is a bit of grease on the teeth. A small amount of the finish is off of the center"bump" of the latch plate. Otherwise, spool appears new. Insured shipping to any location within the US is $6. Additional charges apply elsewhere. It does have some minor scratches on the back and on the metal piece that holds it onto the rod. This piece is in great overall condition. It comes with a second spool that can be swapped out. But identified as being manufactured by Terry Clock Company of Waterbury, Ct. through online articles identifying the patented foot design. This reel is constructed of brass. It has a full time clicker. It is in good working condition. The foot and clamp are riveted together, and the foot is riveted on the back plate and screwed on the front plate using a supporting block. It appears the foot would offer more support than just a clamp. It is in very good condition, appears lightly used, almost new in appearance, see photos) The reel is very well constructed with the pillars, end plates, handle and foot all being quite substantial for the size reel. The handle has a wood knob in very good condition. The Terry Clock Company made reels primarily ... morein the 1870s and 80s. It measures 1-13/16" diameter. 2-3/8" deep including the handle, has a foot measuring 2-5/8" long by 9/16" wide, and has a clamp approximately 1-1/8" diameter by 3/4" wide at the foot, tapering to 1/2" wide at the thumb screw. The thumb screw allows for only about 1/4" travel to tighten it to a pole. It weighs 3.9 ounces, with packaging it will ship at 9 ounces. Vintage Orvis Umpqua Hart Bamboo Fly Reel NR 9 weight Vom Hofe Hardy Style
NO RESERVE AUCTION with Buy it Now You are bidding on a vintage 1970's Orvis Umpqua Reel anti-reverse RIGHT HAND WIND ONLY. This classic look has been taken from Vom Hofe and refined by the Hardy Cascapedia and now shows up in the Orvis reel. Perfect for your bamboo rod. The reel comes with 200 yds of 20 lb backing and 30 yds of WF9F. I am assuming the line is original. But looks fine to use as is. I have some research that this was built by Hart for Orvis, and that there were only 500 made, however, I can not confirm the 500 number. I am assuming that is where the number U302 came from Umpqua number 302 of 500. I have attached the Fireside Angler catalogue picture that describes and depicts this reel. It was sold in the 70's for $190 and the block leather case alone is worth at least $100 now. Also included are 2 spare cork drag ... morewashers(1 now damaged see note in bold below) however the two that are in the reel are fine like new. This reel is truly like new inside and out. Only thing I can see wrong is some marking on the inside of the leather case and a small nick near the U on the reel seat(See pictures) The nick may have occurred at the factory, I don't know. I was asked about the dimensions of the reel today. The diameter of the reel is 3 3/8" and the width of the spool between the end plates(without taking it apart) is 1 1/4" I am so mad at my self. After taking measurements and putting the reel back in the case. The reel foot hit one of the cork washers and snapped it in two. I thought I should tell everyone. Old Vintage Antique Brass Frame Pfleuger Progress Fly Fishing Reel, No.60
Here's a nice old vintage or antique fly fishing reel we received recently. This one has markings"Pfleuger" Trademark" and"Progress" as well as"60" marked on the mounting plate. It is a brass frame reel with what apparently is known as a skeleton frame from what we were able to find on the internet about these older model reels. The reel seems to be in good operating condition and the button that activates the clicking and no clicking operation of the reel works properly. The knob is relatively dark in color but under light it is a butterscotch or amber clear color. The reel is aboout 2.75 inches tall, 2.75 inches long and 2.25 inches wide allowing for the knob. The spool part of the reel is about 1 inch wide. Looks decent overall though one of the ears of the two pole mounts seems to have been flexed ... morea little at one point or another over the years. That's about it. The pictures should be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this old brass frame Pfleuger fly reel low so enjoy the auction. JAN. 31, 1882, INDIANAPOLIS, IND. The reel has nickel plating over brass. The plating is good condition with some light surface scratches from normal use(see photos) There is a clicker controlled by a pull lever through the rim of the front cover and drag control through a second pull lever through the rim of the front cover. It is in good working condition. Although it seems a little sluggish when the clicker is engaged. The handle appears to have a hard rubber knob. It measures 1-15/16" diameter. 4-1/8" deep including the handle, and has a foot measuring 2-7/8" long by 11/16" wide. On the bottom of the foot"PAT. NOV. 14, ... more1871" is inscribed. Up for bid is a very nice vintage single action fly fishing reel from Ocean City. Model No. 306 and Made In Philadelphia USA. Reel is made of aluminum and is approximately 3 3/8" Diameter and has a Line Guide and no clicker. I sell my reels in the condition I find them. I do try to clean them up a bit. But are not polished or oiled by me. I check for external cracks, or missing details such as screws and not any problems that I find This is in very nice"used" shape. Though not abused, but does show some paint wear. All functions work very smooth, crisp and clean!

You will observe that on the reel seat is the letter"C" engraved thereon,which denotes that this reel was made in 1948. You will also observe that also engraved on the reel seet is the number 443, which denotes that this reel was number 443 made that year. The name"SAGUENEY" was the name Otto Zwarg selected, which was named in honor of the celebrated river, The SAGUENEY. One read in history that he made his reels to order for many years for sportsmen in all parts of the world. They were made with a twin toned sliding click, the use of which was optional with the angler" The adjustable tension drag on the left side of the reel can be changed at will while playing ... morethe fish. Rolling bars protect the enamel on the lines. The reel is 3 3/8 inches in diameter. The width of the spool is 1 3/8 inches, and weighs 12 ounces. The reel was made in 1948 in St. Pertersburg. Florida. The reel has a smooth alloy foot, nickle silver rims, 5 pillars, ebonite S shaped crank handle with a counter ballance weight, and is a single action RHW(Right Hand Wind) reel. This reel has a hard rubber front and rear body with metal plates attached to the faces. The spool. Pillars, body plates, and foot appeared to be German Silver, but they could be nickel plated brass in very good condition. I see no brass on these parts, but the rear bearing cap does show a small amount of brass, and the screws and rivets show brass. The handle knob appears to be plastic. You are bidding on a vintage Pflueger Progress Model 1783 Fly Reel from 1935. A Pflueger Progress logo is stamped on the top of the foot and the numbers"1783" and"150" are ha ndwritten in ink on the bottom of the foot. This reel has not been clean ed. Polished, or oiled. There is some light dirt and corrosion visible as expected from normal use and age which contributes to a nice patina. T he photos highlight reel with a copper brown colored patina but it is actually more of a gray tint which does show thru more clearly in the foot picture. The reel appears to be in working condition with good balance and the single stage clicker appears operable. Pair up with a rod for fishing or will make a nice display in your collection.
