Vintage Shakespeare 2081A DA spin reel This large spin reel was made in USA. in 1970 and wieghs almost 20oz. It is in excellent condition and everything works perfectly. It comes with a dark red colored metal body, good strong bail, smooth drag, good anti-reverse, rolling roller and smooth as butter quiet gears. It shows wear in the paint in all the regular spots& edges. It has a 3.2/1 gear ratio and will hold 330 yds. of 12 lb.test it is a very good quality reel, and is a grade 8/9+. This is a great reel to fish with, I have been fishing with these reels for almost 50 years and caught thousands of fish on them. Few reels have rollers that roll as well& consistantly( teflon sleeves work as well if not better than bearings) The oil soaked leather drag washers were the best at the time. If you are not happy with an item. Returns are ... morefine but buyer pays shipping. The reels I sell are 98% used. And in between 20& 100 years old. Most are far from perfect, so I some times use the Orca grading system, the first no. is how it looks and the second how it works. A 5/5 would be for parts and a 10/10 would be new. Up for your consideration is a fine example of an Ambassadeur 5000C De Luxe. This reel is in excellent shape with just some minor rubs on the sideplates and a touch of paint loss on the rim. The gold plate is bright and shiny. Based on the serial number this reel was probably made in the early to mid 70's. Someone has changed the handle at some point. this is a used penn 14/0 that is in excellent shape it is in beautiful shape for its age. overall cosmetically its a 8.5 out of 10 and mechanically its a 9 out of 10. it was recently cleaned and serviced after being in storage for some time. Vintage 1940s Hurd SuperCaster Detroit casting fishing reel with rod and case
A vintage 1940s era fishing reel and rod with case. Found on estate cleanout stored in garage. Am NOT a fisherman or collector. As is condition. Please ask any questions before bidding. The case must have gotten wet at one time. The metal rod inside is rusty, as is the fishing rod to put into the end of the reel. See photos. Would need restoration. The reel is worn from usage and age. Everything seems to move freely. Again, am not a fisherman or collector. Is stamped: Hurd SuperCaster Detroit: serial number 66722. Dirty, would need cleaning. The metal rod is rusty in many spots. Mostly at the base and tip. Can find no repairs or cracks. Case has some paint splatters from storage. Case measures: 51" long Thanks for the interest.
