The interesting duo features a profile portrait of Winston Churchill complete with his brimmed hat and famous cigar. The 3" tea cup is bone white with a sepia tone portrait on the front side and no other detail besides gold trim. Vintage Royal Doulton 5 1/2" Winston Churchill Toby Jug Made in England. The jug is of Winston Churchill in a sitting position. He is wearing a black suit. Shoes, and hat and a brown coat. He has a cigar in his mouth and an umbrella in his right hand. Stamped on the bottom of the jug is the Royal Doulton backstamp that was first used around 1932. The mark has a lion standing on a 5 point crown. Below the crown. Are the words"Made in England" surrounding the words"Royal Doulton England" surrounding 4 interlocking D's. Also, what looks like the letters"FDX" are written on the bottom of the jug. The jug is in very good vintage condition with no chips. Cracks, breaks, or crazing. The jug has some small paint/glaze blemishes(not sure if production or post production) and some wear. Also. There are small bubbles ... morein the glaze in some of the creases and on the bottom. See pictures 8- 12. The jug measures approximately 2 3/4" long. 3 1/2" wide with handle, and 5 1/2" tall.
