Used Bauer Lohr Fly Reel Bauer Premium Fly Reels were among the first in the fly fishing marketplace to produce truly high quality disc drag equipped large arbor reels. The Lohr was a special edition reel named after the owner's son. It was made in the mid to late 1990's in a limited edition run of just 1600. This is reel number 182. The Lohr is ideal for 5 to 7 weight outfits. It's light enough to balance on many trout rods. It is one of the ultimate 7 weight smallmouth bass reels. And even has enough capacity to tackle a long running bonefish in calm conditions or where one can use a number 6 or 7 line. The reel features a large arbor. You're looking at a used large arbor BAUER MXP2 Reel(Black) with an extra spool in Agate Green finish. This reel was for my personal use and I had this reel set up with a dry fly line so I used this reel very little over the years as I'm pretty much a nymph fisherman. You see a X(barely visible) engraved on the inside of the reel cage along with one on the inside of the black spool. There is not one on the green spool. This was done by Bauer because I was a previous dealer and this reel was sold to me for my use. There is a little bit of river rash an the bottom of the frame and a spot on the outer rim of the spool as well as a tiny bit of wear on the ends of the reel foot. This is a Bauer M4 reel that is in great condition. I have had this as a backup to two other M4's when I went on overseas fishing trips. I have used this reel a few times and there are a couple of small marks on the edge of the frame. In direct light. And at certain angles you will also notice very light line marks on the face. The spool has no marks of any kind and looks like it did the day I bought it. I sent this reel to Bauer for the upgrade to the 4 roller clutch last year and have not used the reel since that time. This is the last of my spare Bauer M4 reels. I had a couple"extras" for overseas trips and I never needed them. I still use my first M4 and with regular service it still works perfectly. This reel looks brand new on first inspection and looking at it from the sides. There are no marks or blemishes of any kind on the gloss black face or front of the spool. However. It is not perfect It has 2 very minor marks on the spool edge. The rub marks are noticable in the view as seen in the last two photos. There is glare and it looks like rim wear but, the wear marks are indeed small. The marks probably happened in travel as I have taken the reel on many fly fishing trips. I have lined this reel and cast it into a pool. However. That is all the action it has seen. The backing will be removed before shipping. Here for your consideration is a Bauer M3(6-7 wt) Superlite reel with extra spool. Comes with 2 soft pouches. Each reel is already loaded with backing and fly line. One floating and one sinking. The reel has the usual markings of a gently used reel. Just a couple small surface scratches. So small it was hard to capture them with my camera, also because of the reflection. Functionally, it's perfect. Super smooth, drag works perfect. The reel was just sent to Bauer Company in Oregon to be serviced. They went over the reel and returned it as good as brand new. As the name implies, it's super light! New this reel retails for$390 and the extra spool $180, and don't forget the fly line. I have a perfect Ebay rating, so I'm not trying to play up the reel. It really is a great reel.
