And it was used when I purchased it. I now have the Battenkill Reel with a five weight line that was used with this rod. See my other listings for it. I have used it on trout, and pond bass, and it is a great rod. The white decal on the rod is rubbing off from being in the sack, with is the original one for this rod. Comes with its original case. This reel is in great shape and has only minor blemishes. Does not appear to have gotten very much use. The most significant blemish is a ding on the outside of the spool(see photos. It is in great working order. We don't know a lot about this series of reels but have done some research. The reel was made in Argentina- probably in the 80's. It has a click and pawl drag with an adjustment knob. It is a sturdy reel that would be good for trout or larger species of fish. We have read that it is designated for use with 7/8/9 weight lines.
