This kit appears to be complete. But I do not have a list of what was originally included with the set so I cannot say for sure. All the parts are categorized and bagged and labelled very neatly. Comes with an instruction booklet" The Art of Fly Tying" which is in brand new condition. The feathers that you see in the pictures are real feathers The only concern is that there is some sort of white substance on some parts of the front of the box. It will easily scrape away. I scraped most of it away so I could see the wording but I did not want to damage the box by accident. There is lots and lots of components here, would be a great starter kit or collector piece!

Huge vintage fly tying estate. Inherited from a local fly fishing master. Please see pictures. I tried to capture hook info but there are over 60 boxes of hooks alone so 12 pictures is difficult to get all info. Please ask if you have specific questions. Huge assortment of different threads. Several are metallic tinsel, 4 are wire with one I believe being lead or something similar. Six different bobbins. Numerous clamps, whip finishers, tweezers and other tools. Assortment of different wet and dry feathers. Chennile and furs. Deer hide, bucktail, grizzly bear fur, elk and others. The neatest part. I think is the assortment of hooks. Over 60 boxes of vintage new hooks! Streamer, nymph, wet or dry, long shank or short shank, eye up or down in a neat old slide drawer cabinet. Several different sizes. Nearly all hook boxes are full, some have ... morenever been opened. The 16 drawer organizer is full of different hooks and flies as well with two of the drawers full of eye beads and streamer eyes. This kit was made for the guy that needs to tie flys as the hatch is happening. Or see what's hot that day and tie them in the garage for the next day. It is packed full of everything you could possibly need. There is two vises and other tools in the box. I had it appraised at three differant shops in Denver and the value of the material alone was between $800 and $1200 in today's market. I aquired this kit in a storage auction about 20 years ago. There were some bamboo rods that were hand made by Phillipson from Ft. Collins. Colorado. The date on the rods was 1951. Sorry I do not have the rods. There was a stamp inside the box and I called the number and was told these kits were made for fishermen who wrote articles for magazines and newspapers- and had a lot of fun doing the work while playing.

This is a nice portable fly tying set of tools with vise and carrying case. The elastic that holds some of the tools is a little stretched so the tools tend to slide around a bit. This could be repaired by stitching the elastic together to shorten it. Includes. Vise and stand, bodkin, whip finishing tool, 2 hackle pliers, 1 scissors, and a bobbin.

MONOGRAM FLY TYING KIT, FROM ABERCROMIE & FITCH.
Up for auction is this Monogram fly tying kit that was purchased at Abercrombie& Fitch in New York. Not sure of the date. But a booklet in the kit is copyrighted 1945. The kit contains the bench vise, bobbin needle, fly wax, pliers, scissors, tweezers, eye screws, fish hooks, hackle gage, instructions, and a shoe box full of feathers, yarn, thread, and a small box of over half a dozen completed flies. Vintage fly tying kit from the H. J. Noll. Inc. This one appears to be completely intact. The box has nice bright graphics with the fisherman, trout, and examples of different flies which there is a guide to on the side of the box. Box is in nearly perfect condition except for some edge and corner wear. The feather and quill packets are still stapled in their original position and labeled with their contents. Pre1900 Vintage Fly Fishing Collectors River Fly Tying Kit Nothing ever like it!
The title says it all. Pre 1900 River Fly Tying Kit that has been in a Northern Maine's family since 1889. That was when Great Grandmother turned the book"Fishing with the Fly by Charles F. Orvis over to Winston my Grandfather on April 30, 1889. This river fly tying kit was used to match the hatch those days where patience was always first forehand. I have been tying now going on 60 years and I have never seen a River Kit of this magnitude. The hand vise, and tools are ancient but they still tie a fishing fly. Their are over 30 hand tied flies of the 1900's nomenclature. Each one to be marveled at for it's true workmanship. I would say 90% of all feathers in this river kit are in envelopes with their nomenclature written with a ink well pen on the outside of each one. In the middle at the bottom of the Black Leather case ... moreis a removable tray where some birds intact are along with many other beautiful vintage feathers and trimmings. You will notice in the first picture and throughout that there is five trays on each side of the leather case hinged outward. They fold into themselves and when you get done the two sides come up over the two standing layer of trays and snap close with the brass catches. I have never removed the vintage feathers inside the envelopes since I took charge of the river kit back in the early 60's. I noticed that some items have been added to the river kit in the 1920's and 1930's. I have taken the River Fly Tying Kit with me to most of the Sportsman's Shows I have attended to tie flies and it has been over seen as if it was in a Fly Fishing Museum.
