Purchased recently at an auction in Shipshewana. IN is this very nice piece of pottery that has a tag"Made in Mexico" and signed GALVAN or EALVAN. The vase is 8" tall by 8.5" wide and 2.5" thick. It has a sand pink finish with an abstract design of black and turquoise. The design is the same on front and back. There is a hole on the side that I don't know what function it serves. The vase or pot has an oval opening on the top. Included with the pot is a piece that was with the vase when I purchased it. I do not know what purpase it serves with this pot but I thought I would include it also. As you can see from the last photo the sand pink finish has been pulled off and the white clay finish is showing. The reel shows scuff marks on the edge of the reel along with scuff marks on the back face from setting down in the rocks.
