Here is what I say: I am the original single owner of this gently(and seldom) used ZG Helios fly rod. It was my second rod bought in 12/27/2010 from Mossy Creek Fly Fishing Shop in Harrisonburg VA. I bought it new for $775. I hate to let this one go. But I just don't get up into the small creeks to fish any longer. Truth be told, I fished this rod less than 10 times. It's been sitting in my home on a rod wall rack not sitting in a corner in a garage. You just don't treat a rod like this like that. I have 3 other fly rods(ALL ORVIS Superfine Touch and ZG Helios rods) in the 8+ length. It's a long standing and trusted brand. This little thunderbolt has tons of power to throw streamers and nymph rigs on small brush choked mountain streams. And yet. It can delicately cast a tiny dry fly and has enough backbone to throw it way ... moreup into far to reach pockets and maintain control. I'm selling it to put money towards getting an Orvis bamboo rod. I believe it weighs between 1.5 to 1.75 oz! All the guides are intact. Clean and in perfect working order. This rod casts like a dream. And I took pristine care storing the rod in winter, cleaning it after every usage, catching monster browns in spots where other Fly Fisherman couldn’t go due to the rod length being 7 feet long, as opposed to a 9-10 foot rod. You cannot go wrong with this rod. Bought new for $795. Overall Rating: 5/ 5 One Review Worth Noting. Wow! Wow! Wow! This rod blew my expectations right out of the water. I've been working a run for almost a decade catching fish mostly in the 9-12" range on the top with dries and nymphs off indicators. The water in this tiny stream runs clear all throughout the season. So the fish get spooked easily. I just had this feeling that right in where the water plunged were big fish. It was a prime lie that I could not get too. I've tried a myriad of makes and lengths of rods from 9' ... moreto 5'8" Along with all sorts of fly fishing methods, and none got me to those trophies. For auction is an Orvis Helios 9' 0" 8-Weight 4-Piece(908-4pc) Fly Rod in excellent condition. The rod has been on only two saltwater fishing trips with 7 days on the water. There are some light scratches on the carbon fiber rod tube from travel and the rod has very light soiling on the grip. This is a powerful 8-weight saltwater fly rod. The action is quite fast. But also forgiving, and it is very light weight. I will accept Paypal as payment and will send anywhere in the lower 48 US states for $16.
