I am selling my much loved Sage RPL+ 6 weight rod. I am currently not able to fish as much as I would like so when I do I tend to favour my 4 piece Sage Z-axis rod. This 2 piece RPL+ has a lovely fast action and is certainly able to load well with say a 7 weight line so gives greater versatility for larger waters. As a 2-piece it is not suitable to fit into your average backpack or suitcase so not ideal as a travelling companion! If you travel to local fishing spots then the strong aluminium tube gives you all the rod protection you need in transit and the extra length won't be a problem for the bus/car or train ride.

Fast. Powerful Sage RPL. A great nymph rod. Handles weighted flies and split shot with ease. Extra length helps in line control on drifts and comes in handy when deep-wading or when fishing from a Kayak or Canoe. The rod throws tight loops and the extra length means longer casts which I found useful when fishing streamers on big western rivers. I mainly used this rod for fishing from drift boats on my prior Montana excursions. Like new condition. The rod has a wood handle so I would not recommend using for salt water fishing- which is all I do now!

Sage Graphite III 490-4 RPL 4 piece 4wt 9' Fly Rod with Case - In Great Shape!!!
This auction is for a Sage Graphite III 490-4 RPL Fly Rod. It is a 4wt 9' fly rod. Rod is in great shape with next to no marks on the majority of it. There is some marking around the logo just above the handle. See the pictures for details. This marking is just scuffing in the top coat and is not down to the graphite and certainly will not affect the performance of the rod. The stripping and snake guides are in perfect shape.
