This crisp loading, quick-tipped, fast-action fly rod naturally shows a few nominal signs of light cosmetic wear and tear in the expected high traffic areas that one might expect in a rod that's seen infrequent use. As evidenced in the photos. The cork grip displays a bit of modest staining from previous handling, but remains overall free from any major chips, gouges, or excessive missing fill. The sturdy black anodized up-locking reel seat still looks handsomely bright like did once new, and still functions perfectly too. A close inspection of the rod's rich green blank from tip to butt reveals the usual small scuffs and scrapes in the expected areas. But no signs of catastrophic abuse like deep scratches, scores, or penetrating nicks were found that would in any way hint the rod's original strength or integrity as compromised. A close review of the rod's guides reveals a very faint trace light tarnish present around a couple of guide feet. But no grooving, deformation, or misalignment of any kind was found. Here is a much sought-after"Death Star" 7126-4 TCX two-hander that is in great shape. This rod has been fished a number of times(as it should! Only in fresh water, and has been very well taken care of. Only the slightest of scuff marks, purely surface oriented, can be seen but not even enough for the camera to capture. Own the first spey rod that received a name and has a loyal cult following. Factory Sage Z-Axis tube and cap(from an 8129-4 Z-Axis) blank warranty card, and factory TCX sock are included. T he handle is made from a mix of green and blue cork b url with black rubberized cork ends and accents. The grip is not made of inlays. But solid pieces of cork, so it will not come apart. An American Tackle Titanium Titan Ringlock Guide was used for the striping guide. Seymo 619 ALS single foot stand off guides where used on the rest of the rod.
